I’ve figured out that you can add a fingerprint, but the iOS app won’t understand that the fingerprint has been added.
Go through the process of adding the fingerprint, but ignore when it says 0/8 scans. Listen to the lock. It will do an upchime when the scan was successful, and a downchime when it’s not. Count 8 successful upchimes and you should be good. After doing that I quit the app and was able to get in with my fingerprint.
I had a V1 Lock bolt die (motor no longer moved the lock). I ordered a V2 and installed it (which was pretty easy). I got to the fingerprint submission process and it indicated failure with several fingerprints off one person, then another person. I gave up and said I would just use the entry code like I did on the V1 for over 3 years. This was on Android 3.17 I think. Once the new July 2026 1.1.6 firmware got applied, it rebooted and the fingerprints I had fought so hard to add worked fine.
It was like the lock was taking the fingerprints, but the app did not receive the successful scan results. It is working fine, and I love being able to use WIFI instead of Bluetooth. I would have thought that the V2 Lock Bolt screen on the app would have had the dark theme, but it does not.
Hi, sorry to hear that. Android app shouldn’t have this issue. Could you please submit a device log for me? Are all the fingerprints failed after firmware upgrade? Or just some of them?
It is working fine, all fingerprints I tried to enter on the initial install all work. It may have been if I had skipped fingerprints and then let it do the firmware update, then went back and added the fingerprints the app would have gave a “fingerprints added successfully” message. I am going to leave it alone for now. Thanks
Hi, I just downloaded the app today and am still running into this issue. The lock registers the fingerprint but the app does not. I’m sure my app is on 3.17 and lock firmware is on 1.1.6
Just adding my voice to this issue. Just set up this lock today and was able to set up the fingerprint on the first try (though it did time out like others have reported and it showed as Fingerprint 1). I tried to add a second and it failed and told me I had to delete my credentials and set up a second time. I’m running app version 3,18,0 (newer than the previously reported update), and firmware 1.1.6 on the lock. Any updates on this problem?
I’m having the same issue as well on an iPhone 16 Pro Max… Have version 3.18 and the latest on the firmware. This is my second lock not working. Anybody able to help?
Having the same issue, stuck in a loop where the fingerprint works on the lock but the app never registers them and then prompts me to delete. Everything up to date and lock is brand new. Using S25 Ultra on Android. I can get 2 fingerprints before it prompts me to delete and restart. Have tried all methods to reset device and issue persists. Very frustrating, spent 2 days trying to add fingerprints only to get caught in the same loop. On firmware 1.1.6 and app version 3.18. Bluetooth on and connected to internet. Nothing seems to get me out of the loop. Should I return this item? This defeats the entire purpose of replacing my old lock so I am leaning towards a different brand as it does not appear this is going to be resolved. Log 2486196 submitted but very frustrated that this seems to be a known issue that has not been addressed.
I did find a workaround, if you trigger the add fingerprint, then force close the app and do it on the device it will store it. But you cant do it if you keep the app open. It seems to sync after reopening the app and I can add more fingerprints. Hope that helps someone while we wait for a fix.
Open app and go to access and sharing
Select your profile and click add fingerprint
Wait until the lock beeps that it is ready
Force close app
Proceed with 8 successful attempts on the lock without the app open
Reopen app - all fingerprints now show and no error
It seems the issue is only if you keep the app open
