Wyze Firmware Updates - 2/2/2026

Seems like this just started when I upgraded camera firmware a few days ago

Yes, firmware 4.50.16.5654 is the culprit. Nothing we can do about until Wyze finds and fixes the problem. Hopefully next firmware release.

Hopefully they stopped pushing out the buggy firmware! So far I haven’t received any updates for the V3’s I own.

Are you on app version 3.8.5 or above? If you are on an earlier App version you may not be offered the newest v3 firmware update.

Yes I am. It looks like a staggered rollout based on the OP. With that said, I am still kind of wondering if they stopped rolling out these updates.

The cameras with new firmware are experiencing intermittent connectivity issues, while some that I kept on older versions are working fine.

Welcome to the Forum, @tony3227667!

If you have submitted logs and have Log IDs for the problematic Cams, then this might be a good place to post them in a reply. Since this release includes firmware for several devices, then noting which you’re using could also be helpful. Including your app version is a good idea, too. :+1:

That’s funny, you give Wyze way to much credit.

Count your blessings then, you’ll be disappointed when you update them. Connectivity is terrible.

Here are a couple v3 updates from 2022 and 2023 I remember being paused.

No pause on 4.36.16.5654 yet.

I put the .5654 firmware on five V3 cams and have had no issues. I have never tried to stream them all day long or view them in live view all day and I don’t use groups. They all working fine for events on Cam unlimited and no issues with the SD playback either from continuous recording.

 You’re the first to accuse me of that. I am quite certain the forum mavens/moderators and employees would disagree. In any case, I turned auto-update off on all of my V3 cams. This is far from the first time WYZE has had a buggy/problematic firmware release. At this point, it is par for the course as far as I am concerned.

I have been a customer since 2018. Through the years I have learned to ALWAYS check the forums before updating camera firmware. I’ll roll the dice on my bulbs, but probably shouldn’t.

Stay well and God bless,

I did an upgrade all at once. Bad move. My v3 cameras are the main ones intermittently not responding, stuck in step 1 loading. S/w .5654. I don’t monitor them all day just open the app on iOS when I want to view cameras. BTW they seem to work and load fine from a web browser.

Not all of them :winking_face_with_tongue:

In general I am happy with Wyze, they drop the ball here and there but I usually forgive them.

Whenever a new FW is released I update one camera at the time. I did the same this time and after updating one camera and not experiencing any issues I upgraded them all. That’s when the ugly monster reared its head. Group view failed miserably and still does. Individual cameras work fine.

So, if you rely on group view I’d suggest you skip this version.

v3 cams got 4.36.16.5654 update now we cant view live !

me: android 16 with wyze 2.50, wife: iphone 16 with wyze 3.10

she did the firmware updates in the last 30 hours, and since she’s on the new 3,10

I guess that’s why some v3 cams got the 4.36.16.5654 firmware.

my other v3 cams on 4.36.14.3497 work fine.

the updated cams are still generating motion videos but we cannot view live.

please advise. GRRR

At least in App version 2.50, you can turn of Automatic Firmware Updates off.

You can do the same in App 3.x.x

Pan Cam V3 Won’t Live Stream on IOS since Firmware Update ( beta 4.50.16.5654 ) 2/2/26

I have quite a few different Wyze cams at two different locations, two different WIFI networks.

Recent Pan Cam V3 (beta) firmware update has left one of them routinely unable to stream live on my iPhone 15Max Pro. Although it streams fine via the Windows website.

Spent some time with Support yesterday, who basically walked me thru the troubleshooting list, which I’d already done repeatedly. Yes, certain actions got the camera streaming live again for the moment. But come back a few minutes later, and it gets stuck on step 1 of setting up the secure streaming feed. Reboot camera, works first time, then fails. Do the camera setup over again and yes it streams at first, then fails. Rebooted the router, no help. Reload the ios APP where it fails, doesn’t help. Sign out, back in to IOS app, worked at first then failed. Removed SD card, no change. You name it from the items on the troubleshoot list, it may work again initially but then fails.

By the way, my other Pan Cam V3 on the same WIFI works just fine since the firmware update.

Any suggestions? I just learned I can go backwards on firmware versions… that’s likely my next effort.

Pertinent data: IOS 26.2.1, Wyze IOS App 3.10.5 (2), Cam Pan v3 Firmware 4.50.16.5654

Any input is appreciated…… and I’ve turned off the BETA updates,

[Mod Note]: Your topic was merged to this app Wyze News announcement topic for better visibility to Wyze. Although beta firmware was mentioned in your original topic title, that version number has been released to production, so this newer Wyze News topic is more current than the related Beta topic.

I updated my wyze app on android and I can view the updated cams now.

I am not fond of the new app, ESPECIALLY now that it takes 3 taps to delete a motion video after viewing it.

I like to keep motion vids cleaned up, which should help wyze since I’m not using as much space, but now I won’t, takes too much time, and I have to see the same obsolete vids OVER and OVER again when I get into the events tab.

It would also be nice if the 30 second back n forward buttons were moved off the video window and down onto unused screen space so I can quickly tap multiple times and not have my view obstructed. This was a problem in the 2.50 app also, but now more obstructive.

I plan on staying on App version 2.50 until Wyze forum users express satisfaction with a current Cam v3 firmware version.

I will then update to App version 3.xx and update to that Cam v3 firmware.

I have a feeling you’ll be waiting for quite some time :winking_face_with_tongue:
