Oh my, this is embarrassing.
I took your advice and reinstalled the old controller kit from my old hikvision video doorbell, and it works.
With the wyze settings as mechanical chrime.
Wyze needs to own up to this mistake, bet many people won’t be as lucky to have an existing working controller from another doorbell setup.
