I’m not sure how I feel about the update. Now there is a big glare/flare on my door bell camera.

Which update are you referring to?
Have you tried cleaning the lens with a lint free cloth. It almost looks like there is moisture or smudge on the lens.
It’s not just the glare of the light but there is clarity difference across the whole screen.
My VDBPs are on the 1.0.68 Firmware and are as clear as your first image.
