Wyze Devices Not Getting Firmware Updates

I have personally noticed this a few other complaints were made in the Wyze discord, but when setting up a brand new cam v3, recently it has failed to update to the latest version. My personal experience setting up a v3 the other day was that as soon as setup finished I got the firmware update prompt, I did it, and then after it updated I got another one. This happened 3 times and finally, they went away. I went into accessories to add my lamp socket and it said I needed to update the firmware. The cams firmware was a few major versions behind and there wasn’t any update available. I tried restarting, deleting and re-adding, and even factory resetting. In the end, I flashed the latest firmware manually with an SD card and everything was working. A user in the Discord reported that if he left the Beta program, set it up again, and then rejoined it let him update to the latest version. I’m also in the beta program but a user on discord reported this happening to his Wyze watch, who was not part of the Beta program. Thanks, just wanted to report my findings.

We get those from time 2 time and what we do is we sign out of the app and then we sign back.in most of the time issue is foxed

Being in the beta program is acknowledging that the beta software may and will have bugs that need to be worked out. If you want to stay with a more stable platform, I’d recommend sticking with production version of things.

No I’m fully aware of that, and I’m perfectly fine with some bugs here and there. I’m just reporting it to you guys because that’s the whole point of the beta program. Thanks!

Your best bet to get it seen by the proper people would be to post it in the #beta area on this forum or in the Facebook Beta group if you are a member there

Ah, I was told by Gwendolyn to post it here. I will post in Beta in the future :slight_smile:

I did just talk to Gwendolyn and she has tagged team members to these posts. So you were right in posting these here since you were directed to. When you have not spoken with someone at Wyze and are posting an issue you want them to see that would be when you would want to use the beta area.

Cool, so is the beta section for reporting all bugs weather or not they are relating to beta firmware/app? Thanks!

@IEatBeans
For the most part just the ones pertaining to the beta, the people working on each beta will be in and out of there at times looking at issues. Non-beta issues will normally just follow regular support channels I would think.

Ok yea that’s what I thought. This particular issue wasn’t specifically relating to BETA because i said someone who wasn’t in the beta program also had it happen. I realize I should have been a bit more clear about that but I will keep this in mind for the future. Thanks!

Maybe I will suggest adding a “Bug” tag to the other categories like beta has?
