Wyze color bulb moved and will not connect

Does an address move affect bulb color connectivity? I moved my lamp that has a Wyze bulb color into our vacation home and it won’t connect to my Wyze app. Any advise on what to do? Thanks!

Does the vacation home use the same Wi-Fi SSID and password as the Bulb Color’s previous location? If not and if changing that to match the other location’s Wi-Fi is a problem, then the easiest solution is probably to factory reset the Bulb Color and then add it as a new device in the Wyze app.

Ok, I’ll try to factory-reset my bulb. Not only it’s in a different location, it’s also using a different or a new wifi provider. Thanks again!

Yeah, that’s what I figured. I know that some people use the same SSIDs (network names) and passwords at more than one location that makes it easy to move devices between them without resetting the device’s Wi-Fi configuration, but I think it’s more common for people not to do this, so that’s why I asked. Even with a new provider, it might be possible to change the Wi-Fi settings to match that of the primary location, but that will depend on what hardware you’re using and what access you have to it (i.e., if you have an app or Web-based interface to configure it, what settings are available for you to change, etc.). Doing a Bulb Color reset is probably going to be the easiest way to get it on the new Wi-Fi for now (and you’d have to reset it again to get it back to the old Wi-Fi if you take the lamp and Bulb Color back to the previous location), but if you’re going to be moving “smart” things between the locations frequently, then setting up both Wi-Fi systems with the same network information might make your life easier in the future.
