Wyze Color Bulb in enclosed fixture

I have 60 watt bulbs in enclosed globe light fixtures for 30+ years throughout our home.
Does the Wyze color bulb give off more heat that 60 watt bulb?
I was surprised to see that Wyze does not want us to use them in globe fixtures??

Not being able to use the color bulb in the globe fixtures and
not having a light switch without neutral wire limits
any Wyze control of lighting in rooms throughout our home with ceiling fixtures unless we change out the fixtures.
Hopefully the light switch without neutral wire will be available soon. I saw reference in Sept 22 that it was being worked on…

I am impatiently waiting for the Wyze no-Neutral switch as well. I have 3 GE Cync already installed but have waited for Wyze to finish the house and 10 other switches.

I would think the reason they don’t want the bulbs in enclosures isn’t that they produce more heat, but because they are plastic and not glass. What heat they do produce may be too much for the material to withstand in an enclosed space.

I think the reason Wyze does not want you to use the Bulbs in fixtures is because many of these fixtures are metal, and grounded. So WiFi signal can not reach.

Not sure if that is correct or not. I know many LED bulbs are not rated for use in enclosed fixtures do to the heat and damage that may occur as a result of the electronics overheating. I’ve had to buy bulbs specifically rated for enclosed fixtures.
