Wyze Cloud Retention Survey - 5/18/2026

Hello friends,

We are conducting a very short survey about cloud storage retention duration and would love to get your feedback.

Wyze Cloud Retention Survey

I have rarely needed events farther back than 14 days, and on cameras I DO want them to go farther back, I just get a large SD card (256GB, 512GB, etc), and if I need it to go back even more than 1-2 months, I will either switch it to record events only (instead of continuous recording) or I will have it save recordings (sometimes even lower resolution to conserver space) to my NAS which can save events going back years if I want.

But generally, 14 days is more than enough and I wouldn’t want to pay more for larger cloud storage.

Having said that, IF this was offered at nearly the same price, I would find it beneificial in the following use case: If I had Cam Unlimited Pro with AI search capabilities where I could tell the AI what I am searching for in an event, and have it scan back to events even farther to see if it can find what I was looking for. For example, maybe I notice something go missing in my house. I tell the AI search to look for the latest event that it can identify that object in so I can try to locate it or see who was holding it, or whatever. In some cases I may not know WHEN the object went missing or when I last saw it, so if the AI had access to more events going back a month or more, that would make it more useful for situations like that. That is the main benefit that I, personally, would appreciate having longer cloud event storage for.

I also rarely view Cloud Event videos that are 14 days old. Back in 2022 when I bought my Cam v3 cameras i bought 32GB high endurance cards for each v3.

In 2022, 32GB cards were:

  1. Relatively inexpensive.
  2. 32GB cards were the recommended size for doing manual flashing of camera firmware. Back then i figured it was less hassle to hunt down a 32GB card if each v3 was using one.
  3. I get about 3.5 days of Continuous Recording SD card videos.

I have some larger capacity SD cards on my shelf, but i have not had a 32GB card die yet in over 4 years. Because of my situation, i have gotten in the habit of saving Cloud or SD card videos within 3.5 days.

you copied my answer didnt you

almost excatly the same!

I never go back 14 days and answered as such.

But, considering what Micro SD cards cost these days, I might reconsider.:grimacing:
