Wyze car frustration

Mod Note: A cross-post has been removed per the community guidelines.

I got mine in the first couple minutes and used PayPal as checkout. I am not posting this to rub it in, just to share my experience for the collective bucket. That said, I did have TONS of web pages not loading (including trying to click the buy button numerous time as the page loaded before the sale time). Once I did get it in my cart (again after numerous and fast refreshes and reloads of the wyze-car.html page) eventually got it in my cart and proceeded to PayPal. At every submit or next page button I received an error and just kept refreshing until it loaded properly. Got the confirmation emails and the PayPal funds paid email. Obviously I got lucky and refreshed at the right time where many, many others didn’t. I also paid $5.99 for shipping when it still said Free Shipping. I’m not going to complain to them about it, but if it said $17.99 shipping from the start, I likely wouldn’t have purchased. This was an impulse buy, just looked fun. Hopefully they clear up these technical and procedural issues next time as there are definitely a lot of dissatisfied and loyal customers out there.

I agree what a [Mod Edit] rollout, website kept crashing or I get to the point of hitting submit order and get kicked back to the home page. Y’all can keep that thing and the 17.50 shipping fee. Going to explore other companies

This was poorly executed by Wyze and created bad will among many of its loyal customers. To make matters worse, they proudly declared that they were pleased with their success. A bit tone deaf if you ask me.

honestly I don’t know anymore what makes me upset. the fact that it’s April 2nd and the wyze car is still on their website indicating this was a for real product and this was the way they unrolled it and brought it to the public and that this “toy” took sooo much resource of the company away from products already sold with bugs that need fixing
or
the fact that it was so poorly executed even I believed it was an April fool’s joke, from the product page looking fake and not like the other products they have, the fact that there is no usability of solving any problem like there are other products do… the fact I feel cheated that more products are being created when they haven’t even fix the ones I currently sold to me and yet they still push cam Plus as a service they want me to keep buying a product that won’t work,

A very bad experience :frowning: I was a kinda glad my order failed so I didn’t have to eat the ridiculous shipping charge, but whatever… As a loyal Wyze customer who has participated in multiple pre-order releases (still waiting for my handheld vacuum…) this left a real bad taste in my mouth. Please don’t pull that crap again Wyze!

Such a bad experience. I tried all day every hour. I literally refreshed at 1 minute before the hour watched the timer count down and turned to the top of the hour and all 500 are gone wait 59 minutes. How is that even possible. Also, when I was able to add to my cart by the time I input my info to pay it was gone. WHY!!! If it is in my cart it is mine unless I do not complete the transaction in a certain amount of time, LIKE ALL other web sites. They put a timer of like 3 minutes for you to complete so that you do not hold item for ever but lets you get your info in with out loosing the item. This was an epic failure on Wyze. Also, why did I get many messages saying that there was, WHAT MAINTANENCE going on during this event, WHAT THE HELL!!!. I think Wyze owes it to the community to provide another opportunity for those that got screwed by the lack of process. Also, I agree with others, the shipping is CRAZY. I live in Washington ad they are just North of me in the same sate an yet, almost half the cost of the car was shipping cost, COME ON WYZE!!! GET REAL!!! I was so excited to get this little toy to play with but NOT IN THE CARDS I GUESS!!!. Thanks sooooo much Wyze for making such great products and then HAVE AN EPIC FAILURE on ordering.

Yep I’m still pretty sure it’s all a April fool’s joke because I tried just like everyone else with same results…I’m a security and camera installer and I always recommend wyze for all of my installs but probably not anymore that was some bs!!!

Lessons learned:

  1. How to make loyal customers rethink their opinion and hate you!
  2. How to show immaturity in ecommerce (yet brag about being an expert).
  3. Really disappoint a large segment of your customer base.
  4. How to play a mind trick on people who trust you.
  5. We’ll get it right “Next Time” - well that may never happen…
  6. Sharp awakening that Wyze is not the only option…
  7. Do I really need their crappy/fail promo products - Vacuum, A19 light, etc.

Same issue here. I tried and tried and kept getting issues with the page. It’s so frustrating when companies create promotions like this but don’t do sufficient performance testing on their site to handle the volume.

I tried all day.

I think even the 5000 people who received the car would be a little pissed off due to the crashing site and this unsatisfying sales model.

So who did wyze make happy yesterday ? I guess no one.

I was happy seeing so many potential customers entering a contest to purchase a product that is not a camera from Wyze. Have a Happy Easter, enjoy the Spring.

I’m having trouble here trying to figure out whether my order actually went through. Spent numerous hours on their website trying to score one of these cars I think I may have actually scored one. Put enough phone call as well as have a service request number but still haven’t heard any responses. I need to verify seeing how they seem to be willing to take my money.

Yep, I got as far as adding the car and cam to my cart - then hit with that message. Several different hours in a row.

Very dumb. What a waste of time.

I tried all day and was able to get to the purchase page multiple times but nothing was available for purchase when I got there. I thought after a while that I must be a fool (an April Fool). By 4pm PDT it was showing all 5000 gone (when at 500 per hours we should have had a couple hours left) Just a totally disappointing rollout by Wyze, I have lost some confidence in a company that I highly admired.

I had this same horrible experience on a few occasions. I’m fine with wyze releasing 500 cars per hour, But when many of us I had the car in the cart, and the website won’t allow us to proceed and check out is unacceptable.

Yes that was one of the funniest episodes.
