Yep this was a chit pre-order rollout. I really hope wyze makes this available for an actual pre order. $500+ in pre-order items last year and I couldn’t get this 1 item due to the way the rollout was done. Pitiful wyze, really disappointed in you.

I was very frustrated as well but not at Wyze, the people trying to take advantage of the situation by running scripts or automated bots to essentially overload the site with requests so they can profit which impacted everyone else who were just trying to get 1.

There isn’t an easy solution to mitigate this issue but it’s certainty frustrating and disappointing when you think you finally got one and then have the red X show up over and over.

I would recommend looking at the shipping address for the 5000 ordered and ban the offenders who are responsible for ruining the event for so many of us.

I did not have fun. I imagine most people did not have fun. Even the people that scored one of the cars probably didn’t have fun either. Not an enjoyable experience. Did I mention this was not fun?

100% couldn’t agree more. I’ve bought or sold thousands of dollars worth of wyze products and was excited to use this at jobs when needed to investigate things in basements and such. I’m an electrician and wyze is easy to sell as I can vouch for and it’s price point. Tried to purchase car every hour in the hour from 8am to 6pm. No success and completely wasted my time .

I tried several times today to get the car into my cart. The first few times I kept getting “Mission Pending”. Of course, there was no explanation of what that meant, so when I refreshed (again several times) the car was out of stock for that hour. It was a “Live, Die, Repeat” process throughout the day.
Then finally, I get the car in the cart and get to the pay screen and it times out, then says the product is out of stock. I finally figured I could just wait until the stock was released instead of starting over and then,
 yep you guessed it. It timed out again and again and again and again.

I have never been more frustrated in the purchase process via Wyze than today. And while I don’t think the person who thought of this process intended to create this much frustration, its apparent frustration and disappointment is what many of us are feeling.

Whoever thought this was the way to get the product out should be 
 well I’ll leave that to your imagination but it doesn’t involve them receiving a pat on the back.
Congrats to those of you who made it through this maze today and completed your order for the car. You have shown the ability to be intrepid and survive the gauntlet known as the “Attempted purchase of the Wyze Car”. Mission Completed.

Only time I got in cart at 2:00 and 3:00. When clicked cart I got the website maintenance error. Wtf

The Wyze engineers may be in the wrong generation to remember the WKRP Turkey Drop—but that is what this felt like. It must have seemed like a good idea to someone until they actually tried it. At least the Turkey Drop made me laugh.

Over different attempts I ended up with two still in my cart. I couldn’t even refresh to take one out again. I ultimately gave up.

Maybe if the folks at Wyze read this they’ll knock a few bucks off for those of us who would have made it except for the web site failure. If not, well just keep making cool products at good price point. I’m happy with the products I have.

I am pissed off! Lost 1 hour of work trying to get the order place and keep getting kicked off.

This sucks and I have had it twice now I have been getting the bad end of the stick. It’s devastating since I stay in que for hours and hours today almost got yelled at my boss and this [Mod Edit] site is crashing saying it’s out of stock even though I ordered on time.
Hi wyze I am incredibly frustrated with your website. I have been waiting since 1pm est time for the hourly release to get a wyze car added to my cart. I work full time and was able to add it to my cart finally after I finished my shift. 5 times I tried to proceed with checkout and the website keeps saying it is out of stock. Again I tried on a MacBook Pro computer and waited for the hour to past to place the order and same bloody issue as I go to pay it’s keep it’s frozen on the payment page after waiting 5 mins and hit refresh the page it shows it already out of stock for the hour. I try my wife phone and had the same problem it’s frozen on the payment page. This is the second time I am having the issues of trying to getting in line to be first time backer for wyze and the website is just crashing. I don’t know if it’s cause I have Apple device trying to order the products. I am definitely a fan of wyze products since it’s great products for good price expect for the outdoor camera and thermostat. But seriously guys it’s not fair when someone is in que to get your products and your website keeps crashing. So sad :disappointed:

I have to agree with all the other frustrated supporters of Wyze. I tried at 8:00am PDT and a little after but there was no car showing up on the web site; so I thought it must have been an April 1st prank. This should have been handled like other limited releases by providing long time supporters based on products purchased before this at least a limited time to get in first before opening the flood gates. Very bad experience that left a bad taste for the company. Don’t pull this type of stunt again please.

Mod edit now. Well I [mod edit] ing wish they would say something. How about rewarding the loyal supporters and let them buy 1 instead of [mod editing] all over usđŸ’©

Yes, many people trying to order at the same time, on most likely a slow server, so a very slow process. Noticed the delivery fee went from $17.99 down to $9.99 a couple hours later. So not sure what final fee will be? If Wyze does this a 2nd time, I’m sure they’ll learn from this one. I’m still waiting for Starter Kit and Sensors to be in stock. Who knows when that will happen? I get an email from Wyze every night at 3:02 AM telling me they’re in stock, but they’re not. What’s up with that?

What a joke. There are ways to prevent people from taking advantage with bots, etc. The ONLY one to blame here is Wyze. A tech company who can’t do Ecommerce?

Total BS of roll out, I have thousands of dollars on wyze products and give away as gifts. I currently have 15 wyze camera and spent the whole day in and out of my shift work trying to get the wyze car only to be kicked out 1 hour from work by my boss for staring at my phone on this stupid pre-order site. This is the worst wyze roll up ever

I am in the same boat. Tried multiple times - no luck. I was able to reach payment screen but then it just froze - no buttons working. I hope Wyze will extend pre-order to significantly bigger number of items like they have done for handheld vacuum.

Equally as frustrated!! I spent the first 10-20 minutes of every hour trying to score a car, I have been a pretty loyal Wyze supporter and never been more irritated!! I am seriously rethinking my loyalty. I don’t need to support them, I have all the “other products” that they compete with. I sure much like many of you out there bought in to the “Wyze way” just because they where just a small start up trying to make a difference and bring decent tech to everyone!! Well this stupid campaign they came up with for April fools was just ridiculous!! I am ashamed I kept with it till the end only to fail!! I don’t need there products, just really loved the idea! But this 500 cars an hour on a truly faulty system or a really bad April fools joke, it’s just sad, I can’t believe I spent all day trying to give them my money! I am still waiting for the big “APRIL FOOLS”!! I am not going to lie I truly feel like a “Fool” for trying.

I’m pretty sure the april fools joke was that it wasn’t actually for sale. I had multiple times timed, to the second, adding the car to my cart and every time it was instantly out of stock. Eventually I just refreshed the page every second during the final few seconds before the top of the hour to see it show 1 second before next drop to 59 minutes 59 seconds and out of stock.

Would have been potentially a neat toy, but realistically glad I didn’t waste $50 on something I’d play with once.

You know, at first glance the 500/hour roll out seemed messed up but it actually helped to a degree. I was able to get one and the only way it happened was by reading through the threads all day and learning how to try again before the next hour. If it went like this all in one go, I wouldn’t have been able to find a strategy in time. However, it woulda helped way more if their site could’ve handled the load. :man_facepalming:t2:

:thinking: I’m really hoping they roll this out as a permanent item, or maybe made-to-order in batches of 1,000 or something. It’s too good of a seller to keep as a limited item. Plus I just want to imagine those scalpers faces when they can’t sell them for $200+

They may have lost a lot of customers from this and they could make it right if they decided to offer the car as a regular item. :crossed_fingers:
