Wyze Cams for Business Security System

I want to replace my current DVR security system at my place of business. It is a wired system with 16 cameras, and we have 5 monitoring stations (5 monitors at various workstations with 16 live feeds each). I want to replicate that as much as possible. But one of the biggest hesitations is that the web view doesn’t have as much functionality as the phone app. For example I don’t think you can review video that’s recorded on the SD card in the camera from the web app. Am I missing something on the web app where I can do this, or is that functionality just not there? Also, will I be able to have 5 workstations with 16 live feeds each?

Without going into details I would strongly suggest that you replace your old NVR with a new NVR and not with cheap WiFi cameras.

Welcome to the Forum, @amram3!

The last time I remember seeing anything from Wyze specifically regarding security systems for businesses was in an announcement in May 2024. They emphasized business use in a video in that topic, but I don’t recall seeing anything specific to business use since then, so that has left me feeling like they were going to try to get into business security and dropped the ball. :man_shrugging:

I agree that knowing more detail about your situation would guide any recommendations and answers to some of your questions (for instance, why do you want to change from your current DVR solution?), but the short answer is that I don’t think current Wyze offerings would really replicate what you currently have.

That’s correct. Reviewing microSD recordings requires the use of the owner’s account (whichever Wyze account actually added the cameras, not an account with “shared” access) and the Wyze app. Access to microSD recordings is not currently available in Web View, though this has been requested in the Wishlist.

You might be able to do that many feeds with Web View and an appropriate subscription, but if you want full-featured access to your cameras with the Wyze app (for instance, if you were using large tablets as your “workstations”), then you’re going to be limited to 4 cameras on screen at a time. With the app’s Monitoring tab, you could set up 4 pages (maximum of 4 cameras per page) and easily swipe between those, but it wouldn’t be a 16-camera simultaneous feed onscreen.

Agree with habib - update to a newer NVR system rather than a WiFi based solution. The biggest headache with a wired system is getting the wires run, but you already have that.

I really appreciate all the replies. Issue is I have an older DVR system, uses analog cameras and coax cables. The DVR system I have is old and has issues (company has gone out of business and no longer supports). I really don’t want to string all new ethernet wires above the workspace, really difficult. Was hoping a wifi solution would work.

You can go MOCA no need to rewire anything.
