I have a Wyze Cam v4 with recognition subscription that constantly registers trees moving as vehicles.
I constantly respond to the “Did we get it right” with thumbs down to identify trees moving that Wyze has recognised as vehicles. I would like to know when vehicles are recognised but not go through a lot of notifications that are actually trees moving. The correct recognition of vehicles is about 10% of all vehicle notifications. When will this be updated? The way the Green Box moves to show movement of trees is fundamentally different to that of a vehicle moving.
Explained in this post - long story short, exclude areas where cars are normally parked, and/or the trees.
It just looks at a still frame for the analysis and picks the most prominent object that matches what you’ve selected. The motion itself (and the location of it) is not part of the analysis.
Doesn’t really work excluding areas in my situation as the area is lined with trees so excluding area will exclude vehicle pickup. I am trying a Reolink camera and it doesn’t seem to have the same false positives as the Wyze system but it’s a much larger camera, I prefer the small size of the Wyze cams hence questioning the image processing.
Unfortunately unless/until Wyze starts using the location of the motion to be more specific, you either have to block out the unwanted motion, or the unwanted object that gets detected.
Repositioning the camera is an option, As is disabling vehicle alerts, since typically you’d really be interested in the vehicle if someone got out of it. You could use continuous recording to SD card as a backup in case the detection misses something (which is a good idea regardless).
