Hello, I have a docker Wyze bridge setup within my local network, I have a Wyze cam v3 and Wyze cam v3 pan that connect and work in the docker bridge just fine. But my v4 cam does not want to connect and I get no signal from the RTSP link in VLC player or in the docker bridge stream, I can however control the cameras functions such as turn on night vision and power cycle the cam. I have read other posts on this form about v4 cams working with Wyze bridge and some that don’t. I’m also aware that the v4 cam firmware is a ‘safe boot’ sorta thing that doesn’t support flashing with 3rd party firmware to get a rtsp protocol but I’m not to fond of flashing firmware as I still want to use the Wyze app and the subscription service I pay for. I haven’t seen any direct posts about the usage of v4 cams working or not working with Wyze bridge, is this still possible with v4 cams? Or am I stuck with v3 cams or older? Thanks in advance!
I haven’t used docker Wyze bridge in a while, so I can’t confirm or test much with the v4s at the moment.
However, you’ll be pleased to hear that one of the founders recently said that they are adding native rtsp functionality into the V4 cameras next. They are currently beta testing it for for the V3 cameras and the pan V3 cameras so that you can use rtsp without having to use a third party bridge. I’ve been using the beta on my V3 cameras and it’s working pretty good. They indicated the beta for the V4 should be available really soon.
So, even if you can’t get the v4s to work in the docker bridge Right now, you should be able to have rtsp on them soon anyway. ![]()
Is this perhaps another instance where Cam v4 was working with Docker Wyze Bridge while using an earlier firmware version but then updating to 4.52.9.5332 broke it, kind of like what appears to have happened with Cam v4 and tinyCam Monitor PRO?
I don’t know what the answer is and I don’t use Docker Wyze Bridge. I’m just asking the question because it occurred to me while reading this topic. I agree that Wyze’s planned native RTSP implementation for Cam v4 is probably likely to give a better user experience in the future.
This is great news actually! Thanks for telling me about this, are you aware on when this update will surface?
This does seem most likely the case as I did update my cameras in bulk about a month ago :\
If you wanted, then, you could try flashing the Cam v4’s firmware back to the penultimate version and see if that resolves your issue with Docker Wyze Bridge. That’s what some tinyCam Monitor PRO users are apparently doing for now. If you really need to get your Cam v4 working with this third-party solution, then that might be your main option until Wyze has their RTSP-enabled Cam v4 firmware available for testing/use.
I don’t know if this would resolve your issue for the time being or not. Again, I’m just speculating.
Thanks for the suggestion, I am currently trying to flash the firmware to 4.52.9.4188 but i am having issues with the startup process, I formatted my sd card that is FAT32 and is a 32gb card, i placed the firmware file in the root of the sd card with no other files on it and held down the setup button while pluging in the camera, i get a red light then it turns purple for a quick flash then red again and boots normally without a firmware change. :\
You’re describing doing the right things, I think. I’ve seen other users report having problems with finicky Cams at times, and sometimes using a smaller FAT32-formatted card (I believe I’ve seen posts about cards as small as 512 MB being used) seems to work. In your case, I think I would probably start with a factory reset of the Cam, and then I would try to flash an older firmware version, using a smaller card and only the necessary .bin file in the root directory of the card.
Also, holding in the SETUP button while plugging in a Cam can be cumbersome, so I tend to use a power strip just so I can flip a switch instead. That makes it a little easier when I need to flash.
I have the same GD Problem and it is really pissing me off! I started regretting buying this stupid Wyze cam pro since the minute I went to set the gd thing up assuming it offered RTSP like my older ones did! Im never buying another Wyze product at least not until they get their act together and starting giving the customers not only what they want but what they deserve!
I’ll believe it when I set it! But I damn sure won’t be holding my breath & I won’t ever be buying another Wyze product until they get their [Mod Edit] together!

I took your advice with the power strip, I’ve been trying all day and no luck yet lol, is there a certain time you have from pushing the setup button and plugging in the device? Also a smaller then 32gb card is harder to find then a good parking spot at Costco.
I don’t think so. Are you pressing and holding the SETUP button while you restore power to the Cam? The last thing I tried flashing was a Cam Pan v4, and I had to press and hold SETUP while flicking the power strip switch, then keep holding SETUP for a few seconds until the flashing process initiates. The instructions say to hold for 3-6 seconds, but I think if you basically hold the SETUP button until the status LED turns solid purple and then release SETUP, you should be good. The light should remain purple for several seconds while the Cam applies the firmware, and then the Cam should reboot. At that point, you should remove the microSD card and delete the .bin file (or erase or reformat the card) if you plan to use it for microSD recording in a Cam.

32 GB should work. You can also create a single partition on a larger card (e.g., a 32 GB partition on a 128 GB card) and use that, as long as this is a single primary partition formatted FAT32. I just mentioned the smaller cards because of what other users have reported in other topics.
