I though my new v3 was “stand alone” and didn’t require base station or AC connection. Wrong?

The V3 requires power (thank goodness in my opinion). Network connectivity is wireless. What gave you the idea that it was battery operated?
The Outdoor cam is truly wireless, but requires the base station for it’s connectivity. The battery only operation substantially limits the capabilities of of the WCO.
