These are the same cams that the “gradual rollout” of the production fw on the 15th had…
And all of these have network connectivity improvements…
Did the production version not go so well?
I still don’t have it available on mine 14 days later…
And here is a Beta for the same ones again again…
And there was mention of choppy live video with the update… @jasonjones1983?
I found a workaround for the RTSP bug in the latest Wyze firmware.
Affected firmware:
Wyze Cam v3: 4.36.17.10
Wyze Cam Pan v3: 4.50.17.10
If you’re having RTSP issues, try the following:
Go into RTSP Settings.
If RTSP is already enabled, remove/disable it completely.
Restart the camera.
Go back into RTSP Settings and enable RTSP again.
Do NOT let the app auto-fill or reuse your previous RTSP settings. Set it up as a new RTSP connection.
Reboot the camera one more time.
If you’ve never enabled RTSP before, you may still need to:
Enable RTSP once.
Remove it.
Reboot the camera.
Then follow the steps above from the beginning.
For Blue Iris users: Do not enable Secure RTSP (RTSPS). Use standard RTSP instead.
This workaround fixed the issue for me. I’m curious if anyone else can test it and report back to see if it resolves the problem on their cameras as well.
I moved it and the replies, so I’ll accept thanks for the organization and trying to get better visibility to Wyze, but I don’t have any responsibility for the firmware. Hopefully the people who actually do write the firmware will see this, identify the problems, and remediate it before pushing it to the production channel.
Thank you for taking the time to investigate and report what works for you.
Wyze Cam Latest Beta update for V3 and V4 wiped out the rtsp setting so I had to go in and re-enter the information. Fortunately the ip address didn’t change as I use BlueIris and nothing on that end had to change.
thx, i had removed my v4 cams from the app, didnt know because title of blog never added v4 to its title, added the v4 to wyze beta android app, once added the option to update to beta fw was listed in the v4 settings, so i updated it, and yes there was now a rtsp option in the fw, once enbled and onfigured was able to use blue iris v5 with v4 cam
