Good morning. The camera has been added to the Google Home system, but when I click on the camera, there is no image, it says it connects for a couple of seconds, and then it says an error
I’m having the same issue. It used to work, but hasn’t for a little while now. My guess is someone changed either on Wyze or Google’s side that broke a connection since it did used to work. Each company from what I’ve read, is blaming the other for the issue…
I know that there is an option for the camera manufacturer to pay Google and then they provide the ability to view online. I have a couple of cameras and they work.
Welcome to the Forum, @edik.tepman!
I can’t speak specifically to the Cam v3, because I don’t own any of that model, but my camera viewing experience—any cameras, not just Wyze—in the Google Home app has always been inconsistent (I guess it’s consistently laggy and consistently inconsistent) and unpredictable, so I’ve tended to just use a camera-specific app on my phone for a better and more reliable experience.
I have had luck with the Google Home app showing some (non-Wyze) camera streams when I’ve enabled Public Preview in the past, but that’s not working for me today. Despite that, I can still view those cameras (and my Wyze cameras) on a Google TV by asking Assistant on a Home Mini (in the same room as the TV) to show me a specific camera. Sometimes I get a “Camera feed is not available.” message on the TV and have to ask again, but the camera usually displays after the second request and some loading lag.
As frustrating as this stuff is sometimes, I’m often amazed that it works at all, given the complexity of what has to happen between the different device makers and service providers.
