Still have the same issue with the latest beta 4.36.11.8135 firmware. No sound audio playback in Wyze Cam V3 Floodlight. There is a loud static noise when I scroll through the footage. I will update this whenever I update to the latest firmware.
Sound icon is enabled on playback.
There is no sound in playback even if I try to record the playback footage.
There is sound on specific cloud event playback.
There is sound on live.
There is sound when I record live footage and it plays back with sound as well.
Advanced Settings → Record Sound is enabled
Cam V3 FW is 4.36.11.8135 beta
Floodlight FW is 1.0.0.55
App version is v2.48.0 (379)
Plugin version is 2.48.0.14
Your post was moved to this topic because it has to do with this new beta firmware. When you are experiencing this issue, can you please make an app log and then add your log number to this topic so that the powers that be can reference it when debugging this beta firmware. Thank you!
Has anyone tried using TinyCam with this firmware version? The one v3 I updated refuses to connect to TC anymore. It had been working up until the v3’s fw was updated.
24-hour test of single Cam v2, Cam v3, Cam v3 Pro Cam Pan v3 cams went without a hitch, so I went to update a bunch more. Successfully updated 6 additional CPv3 and 2 more v3 Pro cams. Went to update 10+ additional Cam v3 cams, but alas, it appears that the 4.36.11.8135 update has been halted.
So updated bunch of cams last night. so far so good. they all seem to be working very well. connect what seams to be faster than in the past. Up dated one of each first then after few hours they were working fine. updated the rest via bulk update 3 or 4 at a time.
I can update that when I removed the Wyze Cam V3 from the Floodlight the playback audio works now with the latest beta 4.36.11.8135. However, when I reconnected it back to the Floodlight the audio playback is gone. I believe this issue isn’t caused by this beta firmware alone, but this issue has existed as far back as February 2023 when it was first reported. Many others in the end had to flash back to 4.36.9.139 firmware since Wyze couldn’t resolve the issue.
That’s progress I guess. Strange though, you would think something like audio playback would be tied to just the camera and not change in anyway just because it’s powered by the floodlight instead.
No tech or anything here just a casual user who tinkers with electronics and computers but would seem the camera communicates or works in conjunction to the floodlights firmware as well then. Perhaps the floodlights firmware is to blame ? I know that hasn’t seen an update in ages last time I checked.
Thanks for your work on this. Could you perhaps create a log and post the reference number here (maybe even one before reconnecting to the floodlight and one after)? Now that this issue is (finally) getting attention, that might help to expedite the debugging.
Sorry, I had to delete my previous post because of the wrong information. I had to double check again since lcstormclan wanted to make sure if 4.36.10.2864 actually fixes the issue. Unfortunately, I can confirm it did not fix the issue. The last known good update which actually fixes the audio playback issue for Wyze Cam V3 Floodlight is 4.36.9.139.
I am hesitant to try 4.36.10.2700 because there were reports of having lots of issue with it. It got so bad that Wyze had to pause that firmware and removed it.
I tested the following firmware and they all have no audio playback with Wyze Cam V3 Floodlight:
4.36.10.2864
4.36.10.3406
4.36.10.4054
4.36.10.7146
4.36.11.4679
4.36.11.5859
4.36.11.7071
4.36.11.7095
4.36.11.8135 beta
Like @Aardvark I could not see the v3 cam, and two v2 cams I updated until I made the SSID that they connect to visible. If I recall, this happened in the past with one of the updates and it was corrected. I like having the camera’s SSID hidden. App: v2.48.0 (6) Network: Ubiquiti
I ran into the same problem. If I unhide the SSID, the cameras came back online (which is a good thing, since the cameras are remote and I couldn’t try to manually reset them until I go out there the next time). Once back online, I could re-hide the SSID and the cameras seem to be staying online. But if I reset them through the app, they won’t come back online until unhiding the SSID again.

hi, since i am not very tech savy. may seem like dumb question but how do u know if u are using these differnt app bersions, etc? i am having trouble wiuth the v3 pam cams and wyze is actually replacing one.?
thanks
The people here are testing different FIRMWARE versions that they have access to as testers. If you want to find what version of firmware your camera has open the camera with the app, on the top right tap the gear icon for settings > go down to Device info tap the arrow and that will show what production version of the firmware your camera has and if it needs an update it will show newer version available.
I am unable to update my Wyze cam v2 firmware from 4.9.9.2847 to 4.9.9.2954. I was able to update my app to 2.49.0 (b383). I have tried restarting the cam via the app, power cycling the cam, and force stopping the app. Please advise. Thank you.
Edit: I must have removed my cam from the beta program. I added it back in and now I am receiving the beta firmware updates.
