Wyze Cam v2 and Pan firmware 4.X.8.501 Released - 11/10/21

My 2 Wyze Cam V2’s were turned into bricks from this firmware update. I have tried repeatedly to talk to tech support. They have refused to help me with a store credit to buy new V3’s. I asked for a supervisor. A supervisor was supposed to call me this morning. Your company’s tech support is the worst in the world. The firmware broke my cameras. They didn’t wear out or fail on their own. Own the problem Wyze. Apparently there is no need to establish customer loyalty.

Ditto!! Why do you have to complain to get a fix? Just patch it back until you find a real fix for the new release…I am so frustrated! I am glad I found these forums before I blew a gasket…only lost 1 camera thank goodness…

2 now …v2-2c;aa;8E98;16;8B and wyze cam pan-2c;AA;8E;35;;F1;4E

Both have been deleted along with the app and reinstalled or tried 10x ea

They are in the trash

Should we trash our bricked V2’s or is there hope that they can be fixed? Anyone have any other brand suggestions?

I’ve never had a bricked V2, nor one that wouldn’t take a manual firmware update. So don’t trash them. If you have an issue, use a manual firmware update to recover it:

Hey @Newshound , do you follow any ‘abundance of caution’ preparation before updating firmware from within the app? Or just mass update 'em all without prep? Or? :slight_smile:

It is impossible to flash the firmware when the camera will only flash a yellow light and make a clicking noise. One needs a blue light to manually update the camera.

I loved WYZE products until this firmware update. Not everyone knows how to use manual firmware. I’m a 62 yr old woman and have no desire to learn how to flash or whatever my bricked cameras. If this is he way issues are handled I will discontinue anything to do with WYZE.I thought they stood by their products and I now Have 2 bricked, a version 2 and a cam 3 headed for the trash…any recommendations on another service?

Im sorry, this just makes me so mad that I am out now 3 cameras and my brothers will go next…I have spent hours now trying to install, reinstall, delete…no camera is worth all this.

Add me to the list of bricked v2 after update. Tried flashing from SD card, but the blue light will not turn on when holding down the setup button when first plugged in.

Not good… what are we supposed to do?
