Will do.
Right. Up this morning, bright and early to figure out what went wrong with this camera. Luckily, I thought to try it one more time first. Andā¦it is working fine now! I have no idea why it stopped working, and now I have no idea why it is.
Donāt keep us in suspenseā¦
How did you fix your issue?
I didnāt do a thing! I just thought before I tried anything, I would open the app, click on the camera in question and see what it said! It came right up!
Thanks. Seems to happen a lot with Wyze.
Some say give the problem 24 hours before trying to fix it.
I believe Wyze works on FM.
Beats me
I suspect a bit of water got in and finally dried itself out. But keep an eye on it, this may be the start of something intermittent (which eventually becomes permanent).
The one I have that had water infiltration started out sporadic then totally disconnected and went into constant reboot cycles. Rather than try to design covers for it I just settled for having it mounted lens on top. I had totally sealed the power connector boot with grease and water definitely did not get in that way, it seems it gets in around the rotating base (the circle on the bottom).
Separately when I was troubleshooting and taking stuff apart I found that even though I had sealed the power plug to the camera, water was able to work its way under the rubber ābootā of the right angle power connector so eventually would have gotten in that way too and probably shorted the power connector also.
If you plan to leave it upside down, sounds like you already have a cover for it, but I would use dielectric grease around the rubber boot of the power connector. Both on the outside (to seal it to the camera) and try to get some inside the boot where the thin flat cable hits it, to keep water out of there too.
May even want to wipe some around the rotating base, not sure how long it will last, the motion will probably work it out, but might help. Just donāt get any grease on electrical connections.
We did have some quite heavy rain earlier yesterday morning. It seems dry, now, but who knows the next big rain may give me the same problem. I will adjust the cover a bit if I can; the plug in part is already under a good cover. Just happy it is working, but I have ordered another, just in case
I really hate when that happens. Think you can fix a problem and lo and behold it has fixed itself. Which doesnāt help you if it happens again because it was based on luck or some other magical force in the universe. It happens again feel free to tag me in and weāll start over.
Thank you. Smoke and mirrors is my best guess
