Wyze Cam Pan v3 - Does not return back to home position

Getting the skip too. Just started yesterday. On the latest firmware. No beta. Mine still drifts after tracking motion.

The Android App has a setting in Account → App Settings → Enable Hardware Decoder that will shift video processing of live stream and playback to the device’s onboard Graphic Processor Chip.

I have found it to be absolutely invaluable for maintaining fluid video, especially with the V3Pro.

Give it a try.

Rolled back to previous version. The problem of the pause disappeared.

I’m a bit confused…

There is only one version of the PanV3 firmware available for download and manual flash: 4.50.1.3603. if you were not on the Beta, you would have to be on this Public Release version or an older \ factory production version.

If you rolled back to any version, the only possibility is 4.50.1.3603… which means the only possibility for the version with the skipping issue was one of the two Beta FW versions 4.50.2.3762 or 4.50.2.3868.

What version # were you on with the skip issues and what version # did you manually flash to?

This setting doesn’t exist on the IOS version as it’s not needed. IOS automatically used the GPU for video.

You are correct. It is an Android App feature.

@midnight_jeep97 and @Krbodkin, who both reported the delay, are using Android.

Here’s what I don’t get. While with the beta firmware, returning to home has been much improved for me, it still drifts slightly. But here’s my question.

If I have this, with DZ turned on:

Why do get notifications of cars going down the street, when it is at the home position?

I am having the same detection zone issue. I commented on this before when it was initially released.

It seems that the lines between the included DZ and excluded DZ are more “blurry” than hard lines.

When the moving object is close to the dividing line between included and excluded, it seems to still pick up the motion. I marked two critical boxes for you.

I have had to “pad” my DZ by at least 1 block to keep it from detecting motion in the excluded DZ. This tells me that they have done something to the DZ logic to make it a progressive fade rather than an all-or-nothing dividing line.

Thanks, SS. But that’s the thing. I know it’s kind of hard to tell in the pic because of the snow, but the black “thing” is my garbage can (yesterday was garbage day) and it is BESIDE the road. That is,. the two points you marked are both OFF the street completely. So, the first turned off block it would seem from what you say, still might see the road. Now, if what you say is accurate, and I have every reason to believe it is, then yes, padding it will help because if it’s a “blur” between the two blocks (the one that is on and the one that is off), then yes, the one that is off could still see movement. You would think that if a block is turned off, THAT block would be 100% off and the “blur” would be on the turned on block. Meaning that some things on the edge of the turned on block would get missed, but nothing in the turned off block would be seen.

In any event, I’ll do as you suggest and see if that helps. Stay tuned to this Bat-Channel for further updates…

I agree 100% with what my brain logic would think the blocks should be… Off is off, on is on.

But, this confounded new cam has been operating in every way but logical.

I have mine on a busy street along with a V3. The V3 has a very tight DZ with no padding and no problems getting confused. The PanV3, on the other hand, seems to need extra space blocked out so it doesn’t get confused.

Who knows what kind of new logic they are experimenting with on this one.

I actually meant that I was on the latest version of the app, which they released an update to yesterday or the day before. That’s when the skipping issue started for me. I rolled back the app using a previous version and it seemed to fix it, but today it’s skipping again.

I figured it was the apps fault as this wasn’t happening at all in the weeks that I’ve had the pan cam v3 until I updated the app.

The pause seems to happen between 4 and 7 seconds into the clip but only on events from the pan cam v3

yes I am using android(S21) app version 2.40.0(b180) and V3 pan is on fw 4.50.2.3868.
so just added 2 new V3Pans to my list last evening. so the 2 new ones do not have the skip around 5sec yet, but the original one has it.(probably go away for a bit if i hard reset it). now the original is not returning to the home point, it is lower, set on motion tracking with DZ set. one of the new ones has waypoints set and is now off on the last 2 points, the third has motion tracking and DZ set and is returning to correct home point, but it has not had the motion that the other gets.

Just checked mine and it was off about 3-4 DZ blocks down and 1 or 2 off to the left. I tried making it go back to the saved home position, but it wouldn’t move. So, I then deleted the home point and recreated it in the right place. No wonder I’ve been getting notifications all morning about cars in the street!

I just got my pan 3.

This is such a dissapointment. I just realized it keeps forgetting its coordinates and does not return to last point. I have waypoints set and the coordinates drift… if i use track motion, it slowly creeps and is way off eventually.

Such a dissapointment. How did this pass beta?

So now i have a pan cam that i cant pan… wow lol

You can see where the waypoint is, and where its pointing after it finishes “motion track”

My pan v2 also doesn’t return to home and drifts. What’s worse is i turn off motion tracking, come back later and it has moved. Actually i have two, on different firmware and both do it.

I have been forced to disable Motion Tracking on all four of my PanV3 cams. The only feature active is the Detection Zone. I just checked all four cams and the FOV has shifted slightly upward in all four cams even with the Motion Tracking and Pan Scan disabled.

I don’t know what has changed, but I’ve not had to reset mine back to the home position now for several days.

Thoughts anyone?

I just turned motion tracking back on. Will monitor.

On a daily basis mine needs resetting. Pan scan and track motion both enabled. Initially it’s set up with the camera looking at the left and right side of my property respectively. By mid day it is so off it thinks the middle of the yard is the first waypoint and the wall behind it is the second.
