Doing a manual record or taking a picture from the app has nothing to do with the SD card, it goes to the phone only.
I have no idea why the information on your card does not show up in the album for scheduled recording to the card. As I said I have the version One WCO cams, iOS 17.1 and iOS app 2.46.0 (6) on a iPhone SE2020 and a Fourth Generation iPad Pro and I have been doing scheduled recording for three years. Maybe someone with a Version 2 WCO can help you out, and I am out. 
I would then pull the card out and place it in a computer to see what files are saved on the card and where that 1.5 gig is.
