Wyze Buds battery level issues in iOS App

I just got a replacement Wyze Buds set to replace a set that lasted one day before the left channel died. I went to update the firmware and just like my first set of Wyze Buds showed no charge on the buds. I waited over an hour for the battery level in the iOS app to show a full charge. It never did.

I have noticed that the status of the battery level of the Buds or the lights on the case is not being updated in real time if the charging cable is plugged into the case. UNLESS you unplug the case from the USB cable and replug it. Only then do the buds show the proper charge level in the app. When I did that the app showed the charge level of the go from 20% up to 100%.

Frustrating.
