I have purchased a Wyze Battery Cam Pro (called Garage2k). The battery appears to be working fine, slowly draining ~1%/day, but suddenly drops to 10% after 2 days. I have just purchased 2 more Wyze Battery Cam Pro (DogDeck2k, FrontDoor2k) and installed them. I will see what happens over the next few days with them. Do I have a bad batter on Garage2k?
Welcome Peter,
I know it’s a bit more work n a bit more money.
With that said, I would recommend the Wyze solar panel @ $20+ (us).
I have Bat Cam Pro mounted just out of my reach (I am 6’2 36" sleeve) on the back porch.
I do not want to climb the step ladder again.
Unless it’s time to pull the HD card (once a yr or so).
I also have Limited sun, in the Fall n Winter. But more than enough, to hold a charge around 60-70% (F&W).
100% in the Spring to late Fall (Lat. 41.7… N).
It’s not a direct answer to your question.
But it is a solution & way to really test, ur batteries. (Especially in yr round sunny climates)
Happy New Year !
&
Good Luck !
My fully charged battery drains in less than 2 days. Is this normal?
I had to buy a second battery to swap every 2 days. Not cool.
Any suggestions?
Any seetings that might help extend battery life?
This is definitely not normal. Without a solar panel and in a normal activity level place (10 events a day or so), it should last over a month. How many events are you getting a day? You may want to edit your detection or event recording settings to reduce false detections.
Also, a solar panel would extend the life a LOT
Under Detection Settings:
Detection Zone: Off
Detection DIstance: 10 ft
Detection Sensitivity: 1 (Low)
Motion Tagging: Off
Under Event Recording:
Detects Motion: Off (which disables Smart Detection)
So, I verify all of the above and restarted Camera.
Today is Jan 25th, 2024.
Time: 12:16 CST.
Battery @ 90%
Stay tuned.
Thanks for the feedback by the way.
Frustrated.
After last post on the 25th with battery at 90%, it died next day.
Frustrated! Frustrated!! Frustrated!!!
