Battery life of battery campro with solar installed

I have a battery cam pro with solar panel installed. Perfect operation for 1.5 months. Now battery drains within day and half even after direct battery charge for all day. Both lights green on battery. No settings where changed. Plugged solar panel into phone and shows charge on phone. Believe solar panel working. Purchased new in April, installed mid may. Firmware current.

Is the cam in a hot area? Lithium batteries are prone to major lifespan issues if they are hot. You can try getting a warranty replacement, not sure if the battery is covered or not.

The only other cause would be if the cam is doing a lot more than it used to, recording lots of motion, doing AI detections, etc. Have you change anything with it around when the battery started having this issue?

It is in direct sun. But it was from start. July was hotter than june. No extra activity. It seems that it just doesn’t accept charge from solar. Possibly solar output diminishing. But even at that i would expect more than about 72 hours run time with settings same as before. Trying to call wyze but held for more than 20 minutes with no response. Possibly very busy.

If it has the same issue even when you charge the battery from the wall, it isn’t the solar panel. Battery capacity has likely just diminished, possibly from the heat or possibly just a dud battery.

I like this suggestion:

This is what I see on the site:

BATTERY WARRANTY

Wyze’s one-year limited warranty may cover the repair or replacement of a defective battery.

I’d just go to the Help Center and open a ticket. (You have to navigate the chatbot to do that, but if you tell it create ticket a couple of times it should offer you a form to leave your name, e-mail address, and a one-line problem description.) That way you can handle it on your own time and not wait on hold. They’ll likely want you to jump through a couple of troubleshooting hoops and have you verify your purchase from an authorized reseller (or give your order number if you bought directly from Wyze), but the warranty replacement process is pretty easy, and they’ll probably just tell you to recycle the battery you have rather than actually returning it.
