After purchasing this camera from Home Depot, I fully charged the battery with the USB-C cord that was provided with the camera on 11/22/25. That charge lasted until 2/15/26 which is 3 months. The 2nd charge lasted until 4/21/26 where it was at 30% which is 2 months. The 3rd charged lasted until 5/22/26 which is 1 month and that charge is now at 30% in 9 days. This is the original battery the came with the camera. How can a battery go bad in 6 months?!
I have the settings at only recording events and it has been like that since I installed it. I don’t get events but maybe once a week at the most. Thanks to another problem with this camera, I have to set the notifications EVERY day because overnight it resets itself to off, so I have not been setting the notifications in months. The camera is under the eave of my garage where it doesn’t get direct sunlight and it’s protected from the cold which we had a very warm winter this year. I cannot install a solar panel due to HOA rules.
There is no reason for this battery drain except for poor batteries being sold with the product. I see a lot of people having battery problems but nothing has fixed them.
Is Wyze working on a better battery? Is Wyze going to do something about these poor batteries?
