Welcome to the Forum, @coaxman523!
I’m trying to understand what you’re experiencing, because at the beginning of your post you say that the app won’t open, which I interpret to mean that it’s not launching at all, and at the end of your post you say that you can’t log in, which makes me wonder if you’re seeing the opening screen of the app with the big Get Started button at the bottom but having problems with the login process. What other details can you provide about what you’re experiencing? Including your Android version and device type might also help Forum members attempting to help you.
Can you verify you are using Android 7 or IOS 12 or newer on your devices? Just want to rule out the Wyze minimum requirements are not the problem.
Yes. I have a fully updated Android device. I was able to connect yesterday without any issues
Yes you are correct I can get the log in screen but it wont log in. or it says my user and password are wrong. i have changed may password twice. it works on the web sit but on on the app
Suggestion:
Since you are already logged out of the app, you do not need to do that.
Shut your phone down. Sometimes deleting and reinstalling the app, does not clear everything.
Now, that its off. Turn it back on, and try logging in.
If that does not work, turn off your cellular data for a moment, and make sure you only have a WiFi connection and try logging in on WiFi.
Yes I have done all of that, including clearing the data and cashe
If I understand correctly, you can get the Wyze app to launch, and then you tap the Get Started button, and this opens a Web browser for you to enter your login credentials, which you do, but then something seems to be happening where the browser is not passing the authentication token back to the Wyze app to complete the process. Does that sound like what’s happening?
If so, then this topic might help:
If you start at that post and read onward, then you may find something helpful. You haven’t said what phone (brand and/or model) or what browser you’re using, but I wonder if changing your browser settings and/or trying a different browser set as the default—even if only temporarily—would allow you to log into the Wyze app on that phone.
I also wonder if you have a VPN interfering or any other recent network changes.
FYI, I didn’t think this was the issue because the topic is tagged android, and @coaxman523’s profile also notes Android use. Also, this was in the initial post:
The app shouldn’t have installed if the phone wasn’t already meeting the requirements.
3.0 failed to load in my old fire HD10 tablets. Just the start up screen. Had to revert to previous version,
No such problem with newer tablets or phones.
I was able to get it to log in once I changed my default browser to firefox.
Thanks for taking the time to report back. I was pretty sure it was going to be a browser issue.
