Does anyone have experience with other brands? Better/worse? Or is this just the current state of the technology in general?
Personally, I have no issues with Wyze cams. They meet my needs. @bryonhu loves Reolink. I am sure he can give you his viewpoint.
As Steve said I like Reolink’s line of 4K cameras.
They do cost more but always seem to be on sale at 20% off usually (marketing ploy)
No subscription needed and no hobbling without a subscription.
NVR’s or Stand alone with RTMP, RTSP, HTTP, & HTTPS connectability and support ONVIF
Eventually all my Wyze cams will be replaced with Reolink’s
Today is the first time I got a false Person detection in my garage. Here is my video and screenshot showing AI thought a Person was detected.
Tagged recognized objects are not necessarily the detected motion. Recognized object tags are objects the AI thinks it sees somewhere in frame on an event that the camera creates after detecting some pixel change. Recognized objects can be stationary or moving.
If moving branches trigger a cloud event, and you have a parked vehicle in frame, the event should be tagged vehicle.
No idea, but Forum Moderators and Mavens are not Wyze employees. We are user community volunteer that help out in the forum.
The delete button was just moved to the “more” menu on the event tab when viewing events. Is that what you are referring to?
It’s just getting worse - 50+ person detected notifications last night from snow flakes - then I walk outside this morning to fetch firewood - and nothing…
Despite being heavily invested in Wyze gear - I’m out…
I saw a person inside the truck.
Okay then, let me say that Wyze AI Person detection is fantastic.
I wish it was that good.
Reolink’s not directly spamming but my cookies seem to influence my news feeds more with the Never-ending Reolink is on sale
It seems the retail price of Reolink cameras, NVR’s, etc… are always reduced by 20-25% almost weekly if not every couple of days.
They all are hungry for sales
Seems like to me that facial recognition there’s a lot behind it that goes into it since some peoples faces are all different and there’s not like a big model in year. It’s similar colors of skin change from person person even if closely as one might have a tan and I’ve never gone outside for the last 13 years Why couldn’t somehow they use this facial feature on vehicles so that just like we do with the facial recognition currently we go through pick a list of pictures name of who they are mom dad sister brother me the starts learning this based on its own internal algorithm and software along with the users, picking photos as time goes on, therefore teaching the AI who is who so it can better recognize those folks why can they not utilize the same thing integrate a system that essentially has vehicle recognition and you just go in and punch in you have a metallic blue with a gold pinstripe 2017 Toyota Camry four-door and yes I get it other people could have that car too, but it’s a lot better than every single time it sees my mom‘s car parked in the driveway because a bug flew in front of it. It tells me there’s a car here. There’s a car here. There’s a car here. I was told to set up a detection perimeter around the car, but that stops me from being able to see if there’s people breaking into the car, which is part of the reason of the cameras also with a facial recognition type system, it would be able to recognize the car from several angles like a can of face
