This applies to both the macOS and IOS apps I use. I click share, the download progress bar appears to complete, then the app says "share failed.
Are these cloud events or SD card events? Sounds like a permissions issue maybe, since the download completes but then it can’t link to whatever you’re trying to share to.
Same issue. Unable to download/share from Cloud. Clips look great in the app, but unable to access them. Download progress bar shows as complete, then stops. Same thing occurs when choosing Share or Download.
I just emailed two videos to my work as well as personal email, one from the cloud and one from SD card with no issues. As @dave27 mentioned, this might be a permissions issue. I am on iOS 18.6 as of yesterday.
Thanks. It’s not permissions, and it looks like it might be a file size issue. This morning I was able to download several 1-2 minute clips with no problem, but a few of the 5 minute clips will not download. Tried clearing cache, restarting the app, etc. No luck. It’s frustrating having great video of a bear standing upright playing with a ball and no way to access it. Sucks.
I still think it is some sort of permission that restricts certain file size to be shared. Might not be phone permission. Most email servers especially personal ones have a 5-10 MB limit if that.
I’ve download many 4 and 5 min videos of MFP and the raccoons playing with their snacks from a V4 without issue. I don’t use share anymore since they added Captured by WYZE XXX Cam. Gmail has a 25MB file size limit so if I want to send myself larger files I just send them to Google Drive or Drop Box.
I download mine to my iPhone/iPad and sync them with iCloud. I have 200GB storage limit.
Not familiar with V4 - working only with 10 outdoor cams V1 and V2. Thus far we have ruled out permissions or other restrictions. We also noticed that the video length show in the Events list is not the same as the downloaded clip. (Shows 5 min when the downloaded clip is only 2) Today we have been able to successfully download all clips but 2.
I have four WCO v1 cams but I never set cloud recording to 5 min on any off them. I have done scheduled event recording to the SD in the cams and have had them set at 5 min, no cooldown period. I took a card out of one the other day and it had 904 MB on it after 7 days, recording motion events only.
Yes, we download to iPhone and then airdrop to MacBook for editing.
Honestly I’d avoid the “share” feature. At least on Android it appears to re-encode at least the audio to make the file smaller, and that has caused compatibility problems for people. It also adds the “captured on wyze” thing at the end. Personally I just record it to my phone and then use the OS’s native gallery app to send or transfer it. Yes the file size does end up being larger but worth it to me, if nothing else for the “Keep It Simple” factor.
