I’ve noticed for some time now that the ability to filter events based on tags has been removed in the beta app. Why? This is a simple function. Not I can’t filter on Pets or Vehicles or Package tags. This doesn’t make sense. Any idea if the filter function is coming back?
12/11/25: Just updated my app to v3.9.0 (b738) and the tag filters are back!
Wyze is aware of this and is currently looking into it. For some reason, this issue is not happening to all individuals on the Beta App, mine is fine, but @Seapup see’s the issue as well.
I just loaded the latest Beta / RC on my Android Device: 3.9.0 (b729). Have you loaded this app and checked your filters?
I continue to have the Events tab filter issue. Have noticed it missing for at least a week now. Updated to 3.9.0.b729 and still missing Events tab filters. Even the Premium Filters maximize/minimize arrow is backward. It should be facing up in the image below since it is expanded. I can only filter by going to each camera and using the funnel there. I have Cam Unlimited. Additionally, the shortcut filters are broken on the Events tab. It randomly shows Vehicle or Person, etc., but does nothing when tapped on.
Have you heard anything from them on a fix for the event filters? Kind of wild for them to break something like this and not address for the beta testers for this long.
Before anyone says leave the beta to get them back I would ask the following “In the production environment how long would they let customers hang?”. Who is doing who a favor here?
I have not. The issue, I believe, is that it does not seem to be happening to everyone in the Beta Group, like me. I also understand, from others, that the issue only seems to be in beta and not production, which leads me to believe it could be server related.
However, I will reach out and see if we can get an update for this thread.
If I recall correctly, haven’t there been a number of various server related issues for a while now? Is Wyze using AWS? I know that not all those issues are Wyze’s fault. AWS has had issues recently.
I agree. Wyze uses AWS and when AWS has issues, Wyze is at risk. This is why some of us were thinking it was Server related and depending on which server you were on. I don’t see the issue, but someone else, in my area, is. Confusing to say the least.
I did reach out to Wyze on this to see if we can get a better answer.
Like you, I use Android, I am not planning on leaving the Beta Group.
I use Android as well. Yes the arrows don’t seem to be pointing correctly. It’s just really odd to me that it would pick on us in the beta group. The first time I mentioned it and the fact I thought it was kind of BS that they were letting this issue persist I was told to leave the beta group to get my features back. That sounds like exactly why this particular group should remain in the beta. It’s also exactly why they should be paying very close attention to fixing this instead of letting it go two weeks.
We already have confirmation from one user that leaving the beta group restores the features.
There’s some logic with the beta team doing the actual work that doesn’t seem to make sense here.
I realize that nobody here works for wyze but they do read this. Letting your paid users who also happen to contribute to your beta testing hang without support really means that they don’t deserve US.
100% agree. The beta group is a great addition to support Wyze and receive feedback prior to anything being released in mass.
I agree, my expectation is that the beta release threads, at a minimum, is reviewed by the PM or someone. But I cannot guarantee it. But as a Moderator, I can and did escalate this to see if we can find something out. Not knowing is the concern. In addition, if it is an App issue and not server related, then Wyze should be aware and correct the issue before release.
