Wyze app 3.3 Beta Test #2 1/6/2025

Way past that. S21 ultra same problem. Brand new out of box s24 ultra. Only app installed, wyze. Same problem. Factory reset 5 times. Same issue.

Thanks for the screen shot.

Your screen shot tells me all. Back in October when I first started chasing this I documented the constant barrage of Google calls. At the time no one seemed to chime in about Google and I speculated that I might be seeing non-camera products.

What I’m seeing non stop.

Well, tried Chatgpt? Here his suggestions.

Here’s a concise version of the troubleshooting steps for the user:

Steps to Troubleshoot Wyze App Memory Leak

  1. Update Google Play Services:

Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > App Details in Store.

Ensure it’s updated to the latest version. If not, update it manually.

  1. Clear Google Play Services Cache:

Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear Cache.

Reboot the phone.

  1. Test in Safe Mode:

Boot into Safe Mode to disable third-party apps:

Press and hold the power button until you see the restart option.

Long press Restart until the Safe Mode prompt appears.

Open the Wyze app and monitor its memory usage.

  1. Disable Notifications & Location Permissions:

Go to Settings > Apps > Wyze > Permissions.

Temporarily disable Location and Notifications.

Run the app again and track memory usage.

  1. Compare Google Play Settings:

Verify Google Location Accuracy is turned on:

Go to Settings > Location > Google Location Accuracy.

Ensure Wyze is not battery-optimized:

Settings > Battery > App Power Management > Wyze > Don’t Optimize.

  1. Document the Issue:

Use the Active Apps screen to record memory usage over time.

Note any specific actions that cause memory usage to spike.

  1. Test the Beta Version:

If possible, install the Wyze beta app to see if the issue is resolved in newer releases.

My Google play Services wasn’t even up to date lol.

Updated it and now Wyze isnt even in the list in running services. :joy:

Oh, follow ai instructions with caution, they’re idiot machines.

Sorry for spamming you, I should also mention I’m running One UI 7 Samsung Beta, Android 15.

I live dangerously. Lol

Thats ok. I had done everything except safe mode. That didnt help as i could not open wyze. Chasing Play as we speak.

Play is a pain, I went to the store searched for Play Services and a link popped up to learn more and in there yet another link for details that led me to an update. They could make it easier.

I figured out what I had to do is:

Clear Cache
Get the beta app
Clear cache
get the new floodlight pro update
clear cache
delete the beta app
download the original app
delete it
redownload it
clear cache
then the siren and sd card shows and works like normal
