Wyze app 3.0 - Released 7/24/2024

Do you deliberately treat Wyze customers as idiots!

Finding it isn’t the issue. That should have been obvious when I explained the CORRECT way to find it!
I always knew it was there.

The question is:

WHY DID YOU RELEASE AN APP THAT YOU KNEW WASN’T FINISHED!

Plus… I ASK AGAIN!
Why would you think that way to fix the Dark Mode is to tell your customers not to use it?

Incredible! I don’t think I’ve EVER come across a worse attitude from a support / customer service representative.

It seems that the only thing Wyze is good at anymore is making excuses and giving fake “solutions”.

I also ask again!
Has any of this been passed to people capable of making decisions?

I noticed the night mode is almost unusable now with constant screen refreshes and visible image processing.

Not sure if it’s the app or the latest firmware update but whatever it is, these cameras are now useless at night in very dark conditions.

Don’t know what to tell you brother, everything works just as well as it had been or better with the old app and it feels a lot more solid and fun. :person_shrugging::smile_cat:

ROFL!

C’mon… who do you think your fooling. If I were a suspicious person, Id have to question the motivation behind your glowing endorsement…

The overwhelming majority (basically everyone but you) dislikes the V3 in some way.

So every other post with specific issues is wrong?

So, your ok with it using bandwidth and data like its unlimited?

So your ok with the FACT that it was released before it was finished? (See their own statement on the App Settings page).

So you’re ok with it REMOVING functionality and flexibility, yet adding nothing really new or wanted?

This app is so bad that even people who have never posted before or rarely post are complaining…

Glad you like it, enjoy it while you can.

I concur. Lump me in with the deplorables.

@peepeep - In what fantasy universe? Create a group and then try to open it under favorites and wait and wait and wait and then get error messages. That’s as well as or better than the old? Really . . . . .?

Didn’t have to, the 8-cam group I’ve been using for years showed up in favorites at the top, I tapped it, eight cams loaded as fast as they ever have, no errors. :man_shrugging:

YMMV, I guess.

Just so you know, @Seapup is a volunteer Forum Moderator. He is not Wyze customer support or Wyze employee.

@peepeep - Cable or fiber internet? Lower, same or higher than 1 gig service? How many cams is the app supporting? Trying to get some info to justify your success. Maybe you’re that 1 unique user.

Cable 500/20 about (10) cams total. Currently in favs (1) 8-cam group plus (2) individual cams streaming (one of which is also in the 8-cam group) plus (3) individual bulbs, (1) plug and (3) automations.

The two individual cams load and stream in favorites just fine.

Now, get in the car and drive outside your network range and see how the cameras load

If I try out 3.0 in one phone will previous version work in my other phones/tablets, I have disabled auto update though 3.0 has not shown up in playstore yet.

No brag just fact. -Will Sonnett

That’s why I provided my circumstances in the original praise post.

I disabled Wi-Fi and enabled LTE and the results were between 60 and 80% as good.

FWIW I updated my Android phone to 3.0 and left the 2.5 version intact on a BlueStacks Android emulator. The BlueStacks 2.5 formatting and function remained the same, even though I had changed the favorites arrangement on 3.0.

I tested out the beta version and deleted it after a day because it was beyond slow to load the live cameras. Today my app must have updated and all I can use is the new app. Awful. The concept of the app is great but its performance is awful. I want the original app back.

You know I can get over rearranging and creating favorites and such again. Fine the app is more difficult to use with the larger icons, especially for people when you’re approaching 20 cameras.

What I can’t deal with is it streaming 20 live streams automatically when I open the app. Who thought this was a great idea? All I need is a thumbnail, I’ll click the camera I want to view. It works real great especially in areas of low cell signal. I’d hate to guess how much data this is chewing through for people on limited data plans, or data caps on their home internet plans.

There’s lots of things to fix, and complete, this couldn’t have been anywhere near anyone’s wish list. I was really happy with Wyze up until this point. At least I wouldn’t be out much money to switch to something else at this point.

The new version is awful, slow, images don’t update in real time.
I like the loading wheel, now that that’s all I see.
Revert back to the old version until you actually try this out.
