So is this the correct sequence for the update, Cams then Base? . Your are correct about the last time mine said do the base first in Yellow letters. I tried the update the other day, did the base first then the cams. I got not event recordings so I changed it back to the previous firmware which has and is still working great.
I only know what I saw via the Wyze app when updating to WCO cam firmware 4.17.1.019 and WCO base firmware 4.16.1.7. It specifically said to update WCO cam 1st. Go to Wyze app Home > Account > Firmware Update. The correct order will be displayed under the device name.
To double check, I tapped on the base station icon on Wyze app Home > Settings > Device Info > Firmware Version. It instructed me to update the WCO cam firmware 1st.
Thank you much, I will give it another try when I am feeling brave😊
After installing the update to the outdoor cam and base station, and enabling the new detection zone to capture only the walkway behind my townhome, no events get recorded. So I turned off the new detection zone feature and then event recording resumed.
Perhaps I should have restarted the app. if I have time later I’ll try that approach, closing and reopening the app after making changes.
Android 9 should be supported.
Wait a few days and checked.
Google play store often ration who get updates.
Google Play store had a Wyze app update for my Android 6, 8, 9 and 10 devices. If the store states that the app is not available for your device, it means that Wyze directly or indirectly excluded it as a compatible device. Wyze needs to update the app’s manifest for the specific device, repackage the app and push it back to Google. Hence, create a ticket by submitting the problem to Wyze customer support so they’re aware of the issue.
I changed all 4 cams and the base to the new firmware. I get good recorded events but no notifications.Yes I have the newest app. All notification settings are turned. I even logged out of the app and logged back in.I have cam plus on all 4 cams. Now to figure out how to get notifications again, ugh!!! I am using IOS 14.4 which worked great with notifications before I just made the change so that is not it.??
Are you getting other type of notifications or none at all? Did you accidentally hit the bell icon on the Home page?
Contracted, in the works.
No notifications at all, and no the bell is not turned off. I just restarted the base again and will see if that works?
Edit- restarting the base seems to have done it for now, I will keeping checking it out.
Edit 2- Get notifications on 1 of 4 cams ugh x4
Edit 3-Got tired of screwing around and changed back to 4.17.001 and 4.16.0.200 and all is well. Will try again in another month.
The iOS app does not save changes in the order of devices if you close the app. And I did hit the Save button – several times, but after app reboot, no changes saved. Anyone else have this problem?
I’ll give this a try and report back in a minute. It’s working for me, are you referring to the order of devices from top to bottom on the app Home Screen?? I don’t even see a save button on mine. I just hit edit and put the cams in the order I want them and click done.
Thanks Jake! I should have added it’s the list inside a Device Group.
I am setting up base station for first time. It is connected to router and light is solid blue. I have the latest version of the Android app but there is no option for connecting base station over Wi-Fi. What’s wrong??
On the app. tap the base to open. Go to setting by clicking on the gear top right corner, Go to device info and tap that, You should see a line that shows how it is connect and another line on Change Connection right below the firmware version.
Is it me or did Android App version 2.17.7 reintroduce a camera connectivity issues. Android 11.
Not good Wyze, Someone reintroduced a bug with the latest changes. I submitted a log a few days ago
I will need to revert back on version because it takes so long to connect to any Wyze Cam now
Hi,
Fot WCO firmware upgrade, what does it mean by
" * Added support for a software motion detection zone"?
Would it allow me to move my detection area just like my Wyze Cam 1&2 & Pan? Instead of the very hard-to-do climb-the-tree move?
Not from what I seen. The from bottom up thing is still there, but you can adjust what part of that is used it looks like.
Not impressed with the outdoor cameras all all. I will not buy anymore.
Wyze Cam 3 seems to be decent though
Wyze cam 3 will definitely be perfect when/if they add the block feature detection zone like on the pan and v2. That is so much better than the 4 corner drag thing. As for the WCO your correct the detection zone is not adjustable but it is nice they added the block feature to help eliminate motion your not interested in seeing.
Regarding this “record sound toggle”, I assume the PIR has to wake up the WCO before the recording will commence, correct? It would be great if there was a way for sound to wake up the WCO. If there is such an option, I’d love to hear from someone about how to turn it on. I received an email from Wyze back on Jan 11th touting this capability as a feature of Cam Plus, but I haven’t been able to find a way to activate such a capability.
