Wyse Cam v3 - Geofencing rules stopped working

Wyze Cam v3, Samsung Galaxy S21 (Android 14) - I have two rules for my Wyse came both based on geofencing. One turns the camera on when I leave the area, and once turns it off when I return to the area, As of about three weeks ago, both stopped working.

I have checked the app permissions, the app has full permissions and has not been tombstoned or slept by the OS. I tried clearing both the cache and the data.

There should be an option to turn the camera on and off when it detects my phone leaving my wifi network, as a 500ft geofence is a poor solution. However, if geofencing is going to be the only solution, it needs to be a reliable one.

I had tried the geofencing and found it drained my battery way too fast so I don’t use that.

However I (and others) have noticed that over the last month or so, notifications have also been unreliable, while they still work fine on my old 2.5 app. Going into the wyze app settings and toggling “running in background” and then in android settings turning battery use to “unlimited” for the Wyze app seems to have mostly solved the notifications issue (and I didn’t notice any more battery drain than before). So maybe try those if you haven’t already, it may be the same cause.
