WPA3 Support - WYZE Cam v1 supposedly supports it, but NOT traditional v2 or v3 cams

Does anyone else find it odd that the WYZE Cam v1 release notes state WPA3 security was added back in July of 2021? Yet here we are in June of 2026 and the traditional v2 & v3 cams do not support a pure WPA3 secured WiFi network. I just tested a v3 cam yet again today.

What gives?

Can someone with a WYZE Cam V1 let us know if it will connect to a pure WPA3 secured WiFi network? Personally, I suspect that this is yet another lie that I have discovered within WYZE’s published release notes.

To the WYZE Cam v1 owners: Thank you for giving it a shot and reporting back!
Sincerely,
Known1

Exceptionally unlikely, with 802.11n, WPA3 has to be done in software and is a pretty big load on the CPU. There is no native support in the chip. I think some 3rd party router firmwares have added it (they usually have much more powerful CPUs) and it causes a hit in throughput due to the CPU being involved.

I don’t own one so by all means, any v1 owners can prove me wrong.
