And you didn’t even embed a “Layla” video with that one?
That song drives me to drink.

What a bleeding richard that guy was. Oi.
Well, at least it wasn’t “Cocaine”!

Everybody has blind spots. It’s part of being human.
There are so many reasons for this, many of which are related to cognitive biases.
If you have never studied Cognitive Biases or thinking errors, I HIGHLY recommend it. I am obsessed. I have studied them in extreme detail since like 2008-ish, applying examples of them to my every day life and have books on them.
Some of the ones most likely to affect Geniuses include:
- Overconfidence Bias
- Confirmation Bias
- Bias Blind Spot
- Curse of knowledge
- Imposter Syndrome
And others, of course.
Some they are less likely to be affected by, but which others often are, include:
- Anchoring Bias
- Availability heuristic
- Bandwagon Effect
There is debate over whether they are more or less influenced by Dunning-Kruger Effect, and Cognitive Entrenchment, as it partially depends on the perspective.
Still, I would argue that “Non-geniuses” have as many or more “blind spots” and perhaps more debilitating ones than the so-called “geniuses” often do.
You could spend your entire life understanding and recognizing cognitive biases just in yourself alone. It’s incredible…though there are plenty of cognitive biases that prevent people from wanting to or being able to recognize their own cognitive biases, and thus having so many blind spots it’s as though we all see through a glass darkly instead of seeing reality. Maybe you should have a Cognitve Bias of the day.
But people defer to geniuses. And geniuses seldom defer to people.
Geniuses have unchecked power and influence. And people do not.
Who has more enormous? I think you know.
Thank you for expanding and enriching my thing.
I don’t have blind spots.
Maybe I can’t see them.

Two things I did not know:
- The only POTUS to be an Eagle Scout!
- Why Dukakis was nicknamed ‘Zorba the Clerk’!
Surprised it was only Gerald Ford. I thought there were others.
Dukakis who?
“Dirty tricks” guy Lee Atwater “…shortly before his death from a brain tumor [in 1991]… apologized to Dukakis for the ‘naked cruelty’ of the 1988 campaign.”
