Window cam questions

Does the new window cam eliminate the red sensor (?) reflection that occurs with the Pan3 cam? At night, that feedback from the Pan3 makes the image non-functional?

I’ve read that the mount to the window also becomes a problem. Has that been solved?

If you’re asking about window reflectivity that occurs with any Wyze Cams positioned behind windows with IR LEDs enabled, then Window Cam does not have IR LEDs, so that’s not an issue.

:information_source: If you navigate to Cam Pan v3’s  Settings ➜ Advanced Settings and tap the beside Night Vision IR Lights, then you should see a pop-up that recommends toggling this setting OFF () when placing the Cam behind windows. Likewise, you should disable the Camera Status Light when you expect the camera to view through a window.

If you’re asking about the status LED, then Window Cam has one of those on the front of the Cam—like other Wyze Cams do—and this can be disabled, as noted above.

What is the problem? I’ve had a Window Cam attached to a window for a few months using its Mounting Sticker and the included Cable Clips, and I haven’t seen any issues with this.

I’ve been told that the adhesive gives up the ghost and the camera falls off the window.

I haven’t seen reports of that. I’ve seen comments about how durable the adhesive is and how difficult it can be to remove one of the Mounting Stickers from a window, but I haven’t tried removing mine because I’m satisfied with its current location.

I even saw one user describe using electrostatic film after having a good experience with that and Window Cam.

Maybe the situation is worse for a window that gets direct sunlight all the time? If there’s a problem with the adhesive, then I imagine usage plays a role. The one I’m using faces north toward a covered porch, so it’s not getting direct sunlight, and I’m really pleased with the view, especially at night.
