WiFi cuts off when I attempt to view v3 and v3 pan cameras since update

I have never had an issue before with home wifi specifically where I live now, where these cameras have been. The update has a bug, clearly that has caused this. And it still doesn’t even connect to the cameras!! The entire home wifi drops, everything stops that’s connected, I back out and have to clear out wyze the it picks up again.

If a wifi device is crashing your home wifi, your home wifi has an issue. Could be some sort of bug in your router, or perhaps you’ve reached some device limit in the router. Have you rebooted the router to see if that clears it up?

After all these years all of a sudden??? Just since the update??? I’m not making it up. My router is fine.

And yes I’ve rebooted it several times. Again…this only started with the update. Every time it picks up motion or sound, it causes the same problem. I have no reason to make this up. Especially considering years ago I was able to see someone else’s live stream on their wyze camera from my wyze camera.

So you think your wyze cam is logging into your router and turning off wifi?

I have 3 panv3s which are all on the latest firmware and app and have not seen any issues like that.

The new security protocols the cams are using now could be triggering a false positive malware detection in your router (if it has that feature). This shouldn’t cut off other devices, but if it was not implemented properly (and it rarely is), it is possible.

When you say the wifi drops, you’re saying the network totally disappears? Or you just have connectivity problems to the internet?

I would make sure your router has the latest firmware and see if there is anything in the logs that might help determine what is causing the problem.

Not saying it is nothing to do with the firmware update. Just saying if it IS related, then it has simply exposed an issue with your wifi setup that wasn’t apparent before.

No. I’m saying that when the cameras attempt to connect, it crashes my Wi-Fi. It’s overwhelming it.

Sounds like it is time for a new router then, or possibly faster internet? What are you running?

Each cam needs around 1-2 mbits/second while streaming or uploading video to the cloud. While 2.4ghz wifi is saturated, it should not overwhelm any halfway decent modern router.

I got the router in 2025. So I need a new router because of the bad update went out to my cameras?? Everything was fine before that update. They have put out updates before that have done the same thing and other random things. Like I said before, I was able to see someone else’s live stream camera through mine . Glad the update worked for you . It’s not for me. Wyze would not be asking for more information from the people who are having problems from the update if it wasn’t a problem with the update.

I have not seen any other reports of this update somehow taking down people’s wifi, where is Wyze asking people for information about that?

If other updates have done this to you, that’s all the more evidence that you have a problem with your wifi.

Not sure what seeing someone else’s live stream has to do with this. When did that happen, and did you report it to wyze security?

Try manually roll back the V3 firmware to see if the issue go away.

Omg….you just like to be right. I did not say other people have had this exact problem. And I didn’t say this has been happening since day 1. Please stop bothering me.

And the camera live feed switch thing was very much know. They fixed it. [Mod Edit]

If you’re not looking for assistance from other users to try and resolve your problem, you’re in the wrong place.

If you think it is strictly a firmware issue, then downgrade back to the previous version and turn off automatic updates, but at some point you’re going to have to address the problem as the old firmware will stop working eventually.

ITS FIXED!!! TODAY EVERYTHING HAS BEEN WORKING. All functions are back to normal. Thank you.
