It just says “This phone is not compatible with this app”
Could be the phone is not confiqured to work with 32-bit software, I am not sure about the A01.
App 3.x.x requires 32-bit environment.
The hardware may be 32-bit but it depends on bit version of OS you have.
There are other posts that describe this but I am sure. Someone can explain it better than I.
@gemniii, I think @ssummerlin probably means that the phone is running a 32-bit version of Android, but since v3.0x the Wyze app has required a 64-bit OS. There’s a topic with some good discussion about that here:
There you can find information about how to determine whether or not your phone is actually running a 64-bit OS (looking at the specs for the Galaxy A01, I’m seeing that it has 2 GB of RAM, and that low RAM amount is often a clue to a 32-bit version of Android, even if the CPU is capable of executing a 64-bit instruction set). @Seapup’s posts in that topic are particularly enlightening, I think.
If you want to run the Wyze app on that particular phone, your best bet may be grabbing an older version from a site like APKMirror or APKPure.
Thank you. I got lost in proper terminology.
You’re welcome. I think I knew what you meant and just wanted to jump in and clarify with some additional information.
If you want to load the 2.x app (only one compatible with that phone) you can get it from apkmirror.com.
First install this Wyze - Make Your Home Smarter 2.50.7.487 (arm64-v8a + arm-v7a) (nodpi) (Android 7.0+) APK Download by Wyze Labs Inc. - APKMirror
You will probably have to tell your phone to allow installing the software from outside of the play store. Once installed, go into play store and check for updates and it will update to the latest/final 2.x version.
There is no guarantee how long the 2.5.x app will be supported but so far it still works.
