Why are Wyze products so [Mod Edit]?

I have lamp sockets that randomly stop working and have to power cycle them at the source. Why can’t they just work regularly? I haven’t applied updates or anything. Horrible products but I’m already hundreds of dollars invested. Wish I had chosen a different solution altogether.

What do you mean by “randomly stop working”? Detail of your experience would be helpful.

If I had to guess without additional information, then I’m wondering if you’re occasionally finding Lamp Socket v2s unresponsive and with a blinking blue status light. That happens to mine occasionally (not often at all), and a power cycle at the light switch tends to resolve that quickly. When it does happen, it usually seems to be the result of a power blip or something I’ve done (monkeying with the network to troubleshoot something else), and the blinking blue light is an indicator that the device is offline. Rebooting it with a power cycle does seem to help, but it would be annoying to have to do that frequently.

I haven’t seen a way to do this with Lamp Socket v2 like with other Wyze products, so I’ve gotten the impression that these things update automatically. (I usually disable automatic firmware updates when I can.) What firmware version are you using? You should be able to see this by navigating to the paired Cam’s  Settings ➜ Accessories ➜ Lamp Socket v2 ➜ Connected Lamp Sockets ➜ Lamp Socket V2 1 [or whatever number] ➜ Device Info. That’s also where you can get a very rough idea of the device’s Wi-Fi signal strength, and I’m wondering if Wi-Fi is the culprit here.
