@Mavens - in case this helps you to answer people
Can we get the AI to only alert to moving vehicles not stationary ones?
Request: Notification for when the package is no longer detected (not just when a package arrives)
Will there be a time limit restriction with web view streaming or is it unlimited?
Great question! i know this is a highly requested feature and we’re so excited that we will finally have something to show. Right now, we’re beta testing web access to Live Stream and Events with Cam Plus devices only. We’re limited by how many streams can be active at once and are charged by usage. This means that we’re limiting the test group to Cam Plus subscribers. So if you’re a Cam Plus subscriber, you’ll get access to Web View as soon as it goes into beta testing. For the live view, it will last as long as the page is live!
Why is web view live streaming only available to paying cam plus customers?
Response 1:
WyzeShawn:We’re currently beta testing web access to Live Stream and Events with Cam Plus devices only. The new tech we’re using has a limit for how many streams can be active at once and charges us by usage. This means that we’re keeping our test group limited to Cam Plus users for now during beta phase. We’ll be keeping an eye on the volume and the pricing that we’re charged to assess a potential wider rollout in the future. Thanks for your understanding!
RESPONSE 2:
Jimmy from Wyze™ (not on Reddit, but still applicable)
we’re hoping to expand it to non-cam plus cameras in the future, just being cautious! this is using new AWS technology that charges us by usage so it could get really expensive on our end really quickly depending on how it gets used.
RESPONSE 3:
WyzeShawn on Youtube:
So the plan for the web view is to be rolled out to the beta for testing first, and in the beta testing we will provide the access of web view to the cam plus users first and then we will decide how we want to make this open to other users based on the beta testing results so stay tuned with us.
Will the Wyzecam Web View Beta be open to the public or will we have to sign up and hope to get selected like other Beta programs?

What differentiates Cam-Plus from Pro?
Cam Plus Pro will include all the features of Cam Plus (e.g. Person/Pet/Package/Vehicle Detection, back-to-back Event Recordings, longer Event Recordings, etc.)
The difference is that Cam Plus Pro includes the ability to:
- arm/disarm a Wyze Cam
- tigger alarms using Person Detection events when “armed”
- send visual alerts to the user and connect the user with a dispatch agent via SMS and phone call to verify the alert prior to dispatching authorities
The super basic TLDR is that Cam Plus Pro includes access to a 24/7 monitoring center that routes to a local 911 call center.
Hopefully this was more clear!
Does Cam Plus Pro integrate with Home Monitoring?
As of today, these are separate products and services. (You cannot have both, but we are planning to integrate them in the future!)
How much will cam plus pro cost? Will we be able to upgrade our current cam plus subscription?
Great question! We can’t wait to bring this new service to you!
At this moment, pricing for Cam Plus Pro is TBD. It will be a service per device, similar to Cam Plus, where you have the option to pay annually or monthly.
To “upgrade” from Cam Plus to Cam Plus Pro, you will need to:
- Unassign your Cam Plus license from the desired device. You then can apply a Cam Plus Pro license to that Cam and use the old Cam Plus license for another device, or you can cancel it (either on Home Monitoring & Security Services - Wyze Services or in the app in App Store or Google Play, depending on where you purchased Cam Plus)
- You will need to subscribe to Cam Plus Pro in the app or on our website.
We don’t have a way to upgrade directly from Cam Plus to Cam Plus Pro, but that’s something we’re working on!
Will Wyze Anything Recognition work similarly to Facial Recognition? In other words will we be storing examples of correct detections (and incorrect detections) similar to the facial recognition profile sections?
Yes and No. Anything Recognition, or Smart Vision as we teased today, needs to store examples of your data to be able to train the system, same as Friendly Faces. But Smart Vision won’t cache detected results like your facial profile. It works more like our general object detection services, putting a personalized tag in notification or event page. You will be able to amend your data by adding those detections proactively but not by default.
Will we ever be able to “teach” the AI in our camera? For example, a specific square-sized shadow in the same place every evening sets of the package detection I have on that Wyze cam v3. It would be really cool if we could teach the AI when something like that isn’t a package, or show it a package it missed, etc.
Yes, and actually we are already practicing this ‘teach’ on the service side, with the feedback users provide in our app. We are updating the model monthly by considering all those mistake cases we gather from our community. It’s evolving but far from perfect. It’d be greatly helpful if you can submit those false/miss videos along with the truth in our app, and hopefully our model can adapt to your cases in coming updates. Keep submitting feedback videos when you see things that went wrong, and we will do the ‘teach’ part for you
Would be nice to get notifications for person detection and not motion events from shadows of trees
Stay tuned with us. It’s on the way!
The facial recognition triggers make Wyze really high-tech, like in movies that require people to show their face to a scanner to unlock vaults and stuff. Will Wyze be offering any new products with the facial recognition security options in mind besides the (Wyze Lock that’s already launched)?
We are looking into two things right now. 1st, with Friendly Faces, you can create a rule based on the recognition result, and hook it up with other devices. Personally, I’ve got a rule to light the bulb and set the color to white if it’s me, while it sets the color to yellow if it’s my wife. 2nd, Friendly Faces is the technology behind this. We are definitly looking at how to combine the AI technology together with other devices to provide more Wyze unique experiences!
Can security levels be customized? Eg, facial recognition sends message; facial recognition + voice recognition (w specific command, “unlock front door”) = command is implemented? Meaning I could approach my front door, be recognized, and my verbal command, “unlock front door” would be acknowledged. I suppose adding a verbal passcode could be a higher level.
It is a great idea to chain these things together to make the system stronger and more reliable. The future smart home needs to intelligently and reliably connect these steps together. The “verbal command” is very good. We will put it into our feature list. Thank you for sharing this!
When & how often are person and package models updated?
We are updating the model every month. For the monthly model release notes, you can head to Wyze AI - Wyze Forum for more information.
Will the videos I submit (for false positives and false negatives fo people, packages and pets) really be used for the AI model development?
Really appreciate your help in helping us make better AI! Your videos will be used for model training for sure!
I get many false positives for packages on my driveway (Wyze Cam v3), but I don’t know what is triggering it. Is there a way to diagnose this, like by showing a bounding box for the object triggering this?
We have a tool to run the model on images to show the detection results. It’s not ready to be public yet. If you want, you can shoot me an email with the videos and I can run it for you. my email is [email redacted, see source link to see if it is still available there]
Will I ever be able to adjust the detection thresholds (e.g., lower it for packages and increase it for people)?
You get it! This is one of the features in our backlog. But in order to support the different thresholds for every single camera, there is some precondition work we need to do.
Do you have any definitions or guidelines for the labels? For example, does a shadow of a moving tree count as lighting change (a shadow is a light) or tree waving (but it’s not actually the tree)? Do squirrels, racoons, mice, and owls count as pets? Does just a foot count as a person? Does it matter whether the package is carried or at rest? Does me carrying my groceries or garbage count as a package?
Love this question! Shadow of a moving tree can be tagged as a moving tree. For the pets please just tag dog and cat for now. The foot can be ignored, while for a package it’s better to be sitting on the ground.
What improvements are coming for Face detection such as to recognize something is the same face regardless of time, sunglasses, masks, pose or occlusion, and will you make it easier to tag a lot at a time?
You can help by labeling as many as good faces possible. And yes, we are planning the next iteration of Friendly faces to provide a better labeling experience.
Will person notifications become faster?
We are working on a new system that can allow the alerts to be sent out faster. You can sync up for testing here
New Wyze AI Detection System Testing Please also DM me your Device MAC if you want to get it early, so we can add you to the list. Your feedback is very welcome! Currently, it only works for V3. We will gradually roll out this to more devices.
Request: Cam Background Audio streaming (even when phone screen is off or on a different app) to use cams as a baby monitor
Thanks for this great suggestion! We will add this to our feature list and let you know when it’s in our pipeline. Currently we are working on the smart AI sound detections which can send you the notifications when detect crying. This is now in Beta testing and will be available soon. You can give it a try and let us know if you have any problems!
Once we submit tags, can we still delete the event?
Thanks for supporting us by submitting tags! Once the tags are submitted, our system needs some time to process the information, so it’s better to keep the event there for a few minutes before deleting it to make sure that the information is successfully processed by our system.
Sorry to hear that you got false and missing detections. Please continue supporting us by submitting these events. We are working hard to make AI learn as much as it can and as fast as it can.
It was said in the Live video that current Wyze cams need faces within 5 feet to recognize them reliably. In the future, do you have any plans to look into offering cameras with higher resolution (2K, etc) so faces can be detected farther away? Or will this strain your bandwidth too much? Can you do some processing locally in the future with better devices to help with this?
Yes, we are working on all three levels - algorithm, firmware, and hardware - to make the Friendly Faces easier to use!
Have you considered breaking apart the app and creating separate apps like Wyze Security (for cams, etc) and Wyze Health (for scales and watches)?
That’s a good feedback! We’ll take it internally and pass it to the app team! Thanks for sharing the thoughts!
When will you reconnect the Amazon show to your Wyze doorbell?
hey there, I am so sorry about having to remove this feature. We found a bug, and we’re currently investigating what caused it to resolve it before flipping it back on. At this point, we don’t have an ETA for this being fixed. But I can assure you that our team is working hard to improve your Wyze Video Doorbell experience.
Please enable horizontal mode in the app
Thanks for great feedback! We are consistently working on improving our platform capabilities. We will make sure to include the landscaping mode as well as different views of the event thumbnails into our pipeline. For now - the camera live view and event play view do support landscaping mode and portrait mode, same with camera groups. Stay tuned for more!
Are you still looking into adding Edge/Local Person detection solutions for future devices (with better memory/processors, etc) like some competitors offer? (I know you were once looking into this and had job postings to try to find someone who could help with his…is this still something you plan to do?)
Wyze is building it’s AI technology depending on the available computing resources, to ensure both the performance and easy accessibility. We’ll keep a close eye on the options in the market to deliver the best solution to our customers.
Will there be a way to turn off vehicle or person or pet notifications only but in the app in the event section still have it marked as vehicle or person or pet and not have them marked as motion only? Because I get a lot of vehicle notifications and when I turn off vehicle detection I don’t get a notification for when vehicles are detected (which is good) but in the app in the events section all the videos with vehicles in them are marked as motion (not what I want) instead of vehicles. (ie: detect everything but only notify about things I select separately)
We are working on this issue. Inside the app, we’ll provide a finer granular toggle to control the behavior of notification. From the model sided, however, to tell the difference between parked cars and moving cars, it’s a new level for AI since we are adding one more dimension into this problem. which is time. This makes the problem hard. But we are working hard to provide the best experiences to our users. Stay tuned.
At this moment, you can always try to adjust the detection zones to avoid parked cars.
What about training the AI to detect sleep patterns? Some sleep apps will monitor movement (sleep as android even does this with sound and microphone detecting reflection of the sound, while others do it in other ways, a camera could measure person movements on a bed), or breathing rates or sounds or all sorts of things. We could use a button or contact sensor to turn the cam on only when we’re sleeping and want it to start measuring our sleep patterns (ie: turned off when we’re changing or being intimate or whatever else). This could be an interesting thing to train the AI to do with a Cam for those people who want to opt into it.
Nice ideas! We noticed that there are expensive products in market to do health analysis with camera and other sensors. Our team definitely works to expand our AI capability to cover more and more our users’ needs. It would be pretty challenging to build reliable AI to analyze health related use cases at this point, and not mentioning there’re also privacy concerns. But we will keep exploring the potentials. Thanks for the great suggestions.
