It’s not supposed to ask for any payment details when you choose $0. I just barely tested ordering it with a secondary Wyze account and it didn’t ask me for any payment details when I set it up for $0.
What I did:
- Open the link https://services.wyze.com/purchase/type/person-detection - it had me log into the account and then I had to open the link again to go to the right spot to order it, Make sure it is ordering Cam Plus Lite
- Select “Custom Amount”
- Type 0 and then it will post a prompt saying something about cloud storage costs and asking if you would be willing to consider to consider changing your amount to $1 instead. If you click yes at the prompt here, then it WILL ask for your payment information because you said yes you are willing to reconsider and change to $1. Instead, tell the prompt NO you don’t want to change your mind, and it will stay free.
If you do that, it doesn’t ask for payment details, it will let you process the order for free without any payment details requested.
I think that’s where some people are getting confused. We’re used to a pop-up prompt asking us to press yes to confirm our choice and continue, so some people automatically click yes out of habit instead of reading that it is asking if you would reconsider.
Try that and see if you can do it for free this time, it worked for me testing it on my wife’s account with no payment prompt.
