The eggs were laid one per day over 4 days, but they all hatched over a 4-hour period, and we got to watch. I edited the video of the 4-hour process down to 6 minutes. It was so exciting!
Raise the rent. Happy Mom
Aww, mom is so pretty and happy they all came through.
Yeah, we were so excited to get a bluebird this year. We’ve been getting a little Wren most every year, for several years. That’s also cool, but wrens make a deep nest out of little sticks instead of straw, which makes it hard to see. This year with the much larger bluebird and straw nest, we have a great view. It’s going to be especially fun when they get big enough to move around the birdhouse. We should get some great views of them. According to what I read, they should fledge and leave between 18-20 days.
Years ago, a live cam of owls in Southern California went viral. Almost as interesting as watching these owls live for a year was the tech that changed over that time. It started so their Grandmother could watch and ended up with several million original views. It was the first of its kind. This reminded me of that and how great it would have been to have the cameras Wyze has now.
That’s really cool. I don’t think I saw that one, but I’ve watched other live streaming viral bird cams in the past, like eagle cams. Two years ago, I actually had a sad video from my Wyze cam of a Coopers Hawk stealing 4 baby robins from a nest in my gazebo, one at a time. I wouldn’t call it viral, but it had 3/4 of a million views on Reddit and currently has 119K views on YouTube. It happened when we weren’t watching, so there was nothing I could do.
