OMG, mom barely fit.

I like the mom’s wiggle wiggle in the nest, as if to test it out.

Still no eggs. In the past, mom usually leaves one around 0900 give or take. I read that sometimes mom will make a nest but not use it.

I just bought two nest boxes. Still trying to figure out the best place to install them and to be able to run the cable to them.

It is best to mount them so the entrance is pointing east. That way the morning sun warms the box and keeps the eggs warmer than if the box pointed another direction.

The entrance hole needs to be enlarged to 1 1/2”. I added a brass plate to keep the woodpeckers out.

The adult bluebirds like dried mealworms. Need a special bluebird feeder to keep other birds out.

Kettle-Moraine makes a nice feeder. Amazon.com

The newly hatched chicks like live mealworms because they are easier to digest. I only put about 20 per day in the feeder once the chicks have hatched.
