Another year, another thread!
What? No bird fight this time?
The feeder has seen a lot of action today but no fights.
Not a bluebird. An invader passing through for a bite. No time to waste.
Wow! that was a quick takeout.
We had a snowstorm so windy it blew snow inside the feeder.
Notice how the bluebird on the outside just ducks when the other bluebird wants out.
You need to put exit signs on the side windows and an Enter only sign on the front door.
The field behind us was inundated with blackbirds. Some of them found the bluebird feeder
One decided the bluebird house entrance hole was too small. Idiot bird didn’t see the brass plate around the hole.
I think the bird at the birdfeeder snagged at least one mealworm. The one at the birdhouse must be a demo contactor. I’m guessing that the holes are a certain size for that reason? Keep the big guys out.
Yes. As per chatCPT
The entrance hole size for a bluebird house depends on the species of bluebird in your area:
• Eastern and Western Bluebirds: The hole should be 1.5 inches in diameter to prevent larger birds from entering.
• Mountain Bluebirds: The hole can be slightly larger, up to 1.5625 inches (1 9/16 inches) in diameter.
A properly sized hole ensures bluebirds can nest comfortably while deterring predators and competing species.
I was wondering. They seem to squeeze in okay. Thanks for explaining to us non-bird watchers.
Blackbirds and bluebirds
Maybe invite the Crows too.
Dang vicious birds
I doubt any beak to beak damage occurred
Does your wife bake? Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie…
Aren’t those starlings?
You’re right, I think those might be starlings.
I like these. Are you still using a Battery Cam Pro for this, or did you switch it for a Cam v4? I don’t have any experience with Battery Cam Pro, but I’m impressed with the audio you’re getting in these videos.
