Bluebirds 2025

These are all Battery Cam Pro.

The solar panel made it worth while. Although, sun is hard to come by in the winter.

Need blinds on the windows, the Bluebirds can enter via the front door. They would probably get mad if the had to stand in line though.

The blackbirds tend to come in the side. I’ll put some clear shipping tape over the side holes and see if that keeps them out but lets the bluebirds in. I emailed the company that makes the feeder and attached a video. Maybe they have an idea. About the only thing I can think of is to make a larger feeder with the floor far away from the entrance holes.

Can’t wait to see the blackbirds beaks wrapped in packing tape, that stuff is STICKY.

I thought they were blackbirds. I confuse sparrows and starlings.

Awww the poor bird can’t get to the mealworms. I taped the side holes shut.

Bluebirds usually enter and leave through the end hole.

Notice at the end the interloper pecks at the plastic window.

His next move is to go through the roof.
Gave those poor bluebirds quite a scare.

Those starlings are horrible, damaging, gregarious pests. :pensive:

Maybe add shades for the windows next.

I sent an email to Kettle Moraine about my bird problem. Here is their reply

Hi Tom! Oh My Gosh!! That is something else! What is your address? We suggest using the plexiglass without holes in them. We will ship it for free! We love your video!

Yep, that’s a starling with winter plumage and beak color. In spring, their beaks change to bright yellow and feathers turn dark, iridescent purple/green.

That is discriminatory

I think we need a thread for bird identification. Lol

I spotted my first dark eyes junco this year coming to my feeders. I’m not gonna pretend that I didn’t shreek in pure joy and excitement over a new feathered friendly visitor. :joy:

I so wish I had bluebirds.
