I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a support interaction on May 11, 2026 (Chat ID: Visitor 1778541913 / Agent: Sean) concerning a defective Wyze Cam Pan v4.
This device was purchased directly from Wyze on January 3, 2026. It is currently four months old and well within the 18-month warranty period. The camera has suffered a hardware failure and no longer responds to movement commands, a fact I communicated clearly at the start of the chat.
The support process was unacceptably obstructive for the following reasons:
1. Systemic Barriers: Your warranty portal refuses to accept valid order numbers that do not fit a specific 7-8 digit format, effectively blocking customers from filing claims.
2. Redundancy: The agent asked me to describe the hardware issue four separate times. Despite my immediate and repeated responses, the agent failed to acknowledge or document the issue until 45 minutes into the conversation.
3. Semantic Obfuscation: The agent spent excessive time looping through definitions of “return windows” versus “warranty coverage.” While the 30-day return window for a refund has passed, this is irrelevant to a hardware replacement claim under the 18-month warranty. The agent used this distinction to justify system errors rather than resolving the claim.
As a long-term Wyze customer, I found this experience to be a deliberate discouragement of a legitimate warranty claim. I am requesting an immediate manual override to process the replacement for my defective Wyze Cam Pan v4.
I have pasted the full chat transcript below for your review and look forward to a prompt resolution.

(3:40:15 PM) Sean: Okay got it, can I ask when returning via our site did you use the format “WYZE-XXXX or US-XXXXX” when trying to input the order number?
(3:41:52 PM) Braxton : That is not the order number shown. See top of first screen shop
(3:43:20 PM) Braxton uploaded: 5DBAAC57-8DF4-40D9-8C72-AE29E9DD5BB8.png
(3:43:22 PM) Sean: I understand, also after checking on the order number it is showing with a different format, to better assist you on this, can you allow me to reach out to our specialist to get this checked on their end?
(3:43:38 PM) Sean: Give me 4-5 minutes on this and I update you shortly.
(3:45:24 PM) Braxton : 5:45
(3:50:02 PM) Braxton : 5:50
(3:50:14 PM) Sean: Thank you very much for your patience. After consulting with our specialist, I can confirm that the order is outside the return window, as it was purchased on January 3, 2026.
(3:51:01 PM) Braxton : Not trying to return. Trying to get warranty. Said this already.
(3:51:44 PM) Sean: Oh, I apologize for the misunderstanding.
(3:52:05 PM) Braxton : Warranty is 18 months for cams bought direct from WYZE according to the web site.
(3:52:46 PM) Sean: I’m really sorry. If you want a warranty claim with your device. Can I ask first what are the issue with the devices so I can document it?
(3:53:08 PM) Braxton : The order number shown is not accepted for warranty return. Says it should be 7-8 digits. Camera does not respond to move commands. Factory reset and setup again. Same thing.
(3:53:30 PM) Braxton : Are you reading these messages?
(3:55:03 PM) Braxton : 5:55
(3:56:01 PM) Sean: Yes, I am reading your messages, and I sincerely apologize for the delay and frustration this has caused. Just to clarify, a warranty claim is a request to repair or replace a defective device under the warranty coverage. A warranty return is the process of sending the defective device back after the claim has usually been approved within 30 months only. Since you mentioned the device is still within the 18-month warranty period, we can continue exploring the warranty replacement option for you.
(3:56:57 PM) Sean: Please note that the warranty return period for your products has already expired.
(3:57:44 PM) Braxton : How can that be? It was purchased January of this year…
(3:58:35 PM) Braxton : Warranty is 18 months for cams bought direct from WYZE according to the web site.
(3:59:35 PM) Braxton : 12 months for those bought from resellers. 90 days is fir return only, not warranty repair.
(4:00:20 PM) Braxton : 6:00
(4:01:11 PM) Sean: I completely understand your confusion. To clarify, our Returns and Warranty policy states that the return window lasts for 1 month, whereas the warranty coverage for any hardware or software issues with the camera extends to 18 months for a physical replacement.
(4:01:38 PM) Sean: To better assist you on this, can you allow me to reach out back to our specialist for other options we can proceed unto.
(4:02:09 PM) Braxton : Again, I am asking for warranty repairs.
(4:04:05 PM) Braxton : In other words, repairs under the 18 month “warranty coverage for any hardware or software issues”
(4:05:05 PM) Braxton : 6:05
(4:06:30 PM) Sean: I understand what you mean, and I appreciate you clarifying that. Under the 18-month warranty coverage, defective devices are generally not repaired. Instead, the warranty process is designed to provide a replacement for eligible products that are confirmed to have hardware or software issues covered under the warranty terms.
(4:08:03 PM) Braxton : Yes, I know. I have been using WYZE products since the first hit the market. I have never had this much difficulty with warranty support.
(4:10:29 PM) Braxton : 6:10
(4:10:46 PM) Sean: I am really sorry for the inconvenience this has given, since we are now on the same page that you want to file a warranty claim for your camera. Can I ask what is the issue with the Wyze Cam Pan v4 device.
(4:11:31 PM) Sean: Moving forward I can help you check on its warranty with our specialist so we can check and provide a replacement for the device.
(4:11:47 PM) Braxton : Why do you keep asking the same question I have now answered three times? The order number shown is not accepted for warranty return. Says it should be 7-8 digits. Camera does not respond to move commands. Factory reset and setup again. Same thing.
(4:12:52 PM) Braxton uploaded: FFA7E607-F2C6-4096-93C3-FF8BEF56FC91.png
(4:15:02 PM) Braxton : 6:15
(4:15:59 PM) Sean: I sincerely apologize for the repeated questions and understand how frustrating that must feel. Thank you for providing the information again, and I do see the details you shared regarding the camera not responding to movement commands even after a factory reset and setup. I’d also like to clarify the difference between a return and a warranty claim. The return option is only available within the standard return period, which is why the system is asking for a 7–8 digit order number and is not accepting the information provided. Since the device is already outside of the return period, it would no longer qualify for a standard return.
(4:16:40 PM) Braxton : Moving forward I can help you check on its warranty with our specialist so we can check and provide a replacement for the device.
(4:17:13 PM) Braxton : I am really sorry for the inconvenience this has given, since we are now on the same page that you want to file a warranty claim for your camera. Can I ask what is the issue with the Wyze Cam Pan v4 device.
(4:18:19 PM) Braxton : I think you are reusing to honor the warranty. Will copy this chat into the support ticket I now have to fill out.
(4:20:47 PM) Braxton : 6:20
(4:21:58 PM) Sean: I’m really sorry this has felt that way, and I completely understand your concern. I want to reassure you that we are still honoring the warranty on your device. The confusion here is between two different processes: returns and warranty coverage. The standard return option can no longer be used because it has exceeded the eligible return period, which is why that specific route is being blocked. However, this does not affect your warranty coverage for defects or device issues.
(4:22:22 PM) Braxton : Is my camera under warranty?
(4:22:26 PM) Sean: I can absolutely advocate on your behalf and reach out to our specialists to review your return request for you. Please allow me 4-5 minutes to reach out back to them.
(4:24:37 PM) Braxton : Not wasting anymore time with you. I will be investing some time in communicating this chat to WYZE management.
