I just bought the new Wyze window cam, but the mount sticker came with it only at horizontal 180 degree angle, I searched online, but no angle window mount online anywhere. The size of this new window cam is much smaller than V3 & V4. wonder if anyone else know where to get it? thanks in advance
Keep in mind, if any camera is not perpendicular with a window will probably have some window reflection. See the lower left side of this picture.
thank you, i dont mind a bit glare, need to capture more at angle closer to the house
Here is a thread with great info if you want to make your own angled window mount for a Wyze camera.
I’m using a Window Cam in a front-facing window and like the view that it provides so far, but at some point I might be interested in trying others facing the backyard from higher windows, and in a case like that I might try printing a wedge. That’s probably something I’d look into if I wanted to mount one at an angle now.
i found one avail from amazon, I was going to do abit diy on that if its abit big, but found out its exact fit actually for the angle. “Teccle Angled Window Mount Compatible with Wyze Cam v4 Cam V3, 20 Degrees Tilt ( Up/Down/Left/Right ), Through Window Use Cam v3 v4 , Turn Wyze Camera into a Window Camera for Outdoor Monitoring“. And I love the result of it, very little glare, night view is much better than my google nestcam
Oh, good! I’m glad you found something that’s giving you satisfactory results! ![]()
I looked it up, and it sort of reminds me of Wyze’s own Window Mount, but it also makes me think of different models I’ve seen available for 3D printing in order to achieve specific fixed angles. In those cases, the mount has a cavity that the camera body (or at least the front portion of it) slides into. For Window Cam, I’ve wondered about a simple wedge like this:
That one’s 5°, but the model could be modified to give whatever fixed angle might be desired for a given application. The reason I’m thinking a wedge might be a good solution for Window Cam is that Window Cam is designed to be pressed against the glass with the Mounting Sticker doing much of the light blocking. Rather than creating a space where more window surface is exposed for reflecting light into the camera, I wonder about keeping that limited with a light-blocking wedge.
I haven’t actually tried this, because I haven’t needed an angle for Window Cam, but I’m curious to know if anyone has and what the results might be.
