Wall Switch initial add device page refuses to load

I am having trouble accessing any of the menus for the 3 wall switches I have installed. I cannot delete the switches I have installed and when I factory reset them and try to install with a new name the add device initial menu will not load. Using an android phone. Have done all the reset, clear data / cache and reinstalled new app 3 times to no avail. I can see the initial add device menu screens for the other products. This seems to be a wall switch problem in the app. Thanks for any help

I don’t have any of the Switches, so I can’t speak to direct experience with those, but if you think that this is primarily an app problem then it might be helpful for you to share which specific app version you’re using. Additionally—again, if you think this is a problem peculiar to whatever app you’re using—I’d be inclined to reproduce the issue, submit a log from the app, and then open a Support ticket to pass them the Log ID. You could also post that same information (incident report and Log ID) to whichever Wyze News topic mentions the particular app version you’re using, as that might increase visibility to Wyze.

If the problem isn’t specific to a certain app version and is more of an issue of adding devices to your network at this point, then I’d temporarily disable any 5 and 6 GHz radios on your network so that it’s using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, and I’d also disable mobile data on the phone in order to force the phone to use your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi as its only Internet connection. Then I’d attempt in-app setup of a Switch as a new device.

I had to do something similar to this when installing a non-Wyze smart Wi-Fi switch for my sister and brother-in-law once, and I’ve had to do this for other stubborn IoT devices, as well. Once the initial add/configuration is complete and the device is on the network, I’ve re-enabled 5/6 GHz Wi-Fi and mobile data.
