Hi, I have a Video Doorbell v1 that was working well. Swapped out my router and had to rename my network, so I deleted the doorbell and tried to add it again.
It will not go into detection mode. When I restore power the button lights up Yellow for a few seconds, but the Pair button on the back doesn’t do anything, and the light won’t flash (and no “Ready To Connect” message).
Can’t reset original Video Doorbell - light is on, but never starts blinking
I recently changed my ISP and needed to change the WiFi settings for my Video Doorbell (the original one) to connect to the new WiFi network. When viewing the settings for it in the Wyze app I saw the current network name, but no way to change it, so I deleted the doorbell from the Wyze app.
When I try to reset the doorbell by pressing and releasing the reset button on the back nothing happens. The doorbell is lit solid yellow, but it never starts blinking and never says “ready to connect”. I’ve turned the circuit breaker for the entire house off then back on - no improvement. I’ve also disconnected both wires from the back of the doorbell, let it sit for a minute, then re-connected it. Still doesn’t work.
Any ideas about how I can reset this doorbell and connect it to my new WiFi network?

Have you tried Pressing and holding the Reset Button for a few more seconds?
Also, as an FYI: When changing WiFi settings, you don’t need to delete the devices from your app. Simply go through the setup process and select the same device. It will leave all of your settings intact, but the WiFi will change.
Circling back to post that I found the problem. The little extension wires had frayed at the terminals. Strange though that the doorbell was still getting enough power to illuminate the button.
Good call on the transformer, and I appreciate the update about that, too.
That makes me think of another recent topic where someone described measuring 16 V from an old 10 V transformer. In that case, the apparent power output for that transformer was rated for only 5 VA, which is below Wyze’s recommendation. I don’t know what your original transformer rating was, but I imagine you’ll have much better results with the newer transformer (and doorbell).
