Video doorbell pro chime

My chime stopped working and I don’t want to replace the the doorbell. Does anyone know where to find just a chime for the doorbell pro? EBay doesn’t have much to offer.

Is it just the sound portion of Chime Pro that has quit working? My understanding of Video Doorbell Pro is that it’s pre-paired to the included Chime Pro, which acts as a wireless bridge or hub, so I’m not sure if replacing one Chime Pro with another is possible. (It might be. I just don’t know, and I don’t recall ever seeing those sold separately on Wyze’s site. Note: I don’t actually own Video Doorbell Pro.)

If Chime Pro is still functioning as the Video Doorbell Pro’s Wi-Fi connection but you just need something else to make a chime sound, then you could consider something like Wi-Fi Chime, which is a separate Wi-Fi device that’s supposed to work with all Wyze Cam and video doorbell models, but it’s not intended to function as the hub/bridge for Video Doorbell Pro’s wireless signal, so you’d still need to have Chime Pro plugged in for that, at least as I understand it.

If you can explain in more detail what stopped working and what troubleshooting you’ve attempted, then that might also be helpful in understanding the situation and your needs.

Yes just the chime stopped working and I’ve gone through all the trouble shooting steps. Wyze offered a gift card because they don’t stock just chimes or have any pro’s.
I should have realized that the chime functioned as the hub as well.

Okay, if the Chime Pro’s hub function is intact and you can still connect to your Video Doorbell Pro through the app, then I’d be inclined to take the gift card and apply that toward a Wi-Fi Chime. That is if I understand the situation correctly.

No I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. The chime will not connect to the doorbell at all.

Oh, okay. I think you’re boned.

I could totally be wrong about that. My understanding (based on discussion in another topic) is that Video Doorbell Pro and Chime Pro are pre-paired and that Video Doorbell Pro requires a functioning Chime Pro in order to have a wireless connection, so I wouldn’t expect you to be able to connect to your Video Doorbell Pro from the app if the Chime Pro is out of service. Is that what you’re experiencing?

I’d suggest trying a factory reset, but I imagine you’ve already done that.

Because of the pre-paired nature of the devices, I’m not sure if a new Chime Pro can be paired to an existing Video Doorbell Pro. I don’t know how they’d do the Bluetooth handshake (or whatever is required to pair). One thing that I’m really curious about now that I think about it is whether or not a Roku Enhanced Chime SE would pair to a Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. I have no idea if something like that would work (probably not), but my understanding is that the hardware is essentially the same if not identical. (Information available from the FCC indicates that the hardware tested was the same but with different model numbers depending upon whether Wyze or Roku was going to sell it, though I understand the firmware differences are significant and that Roku devices can’t be set up in the Wyze app and vice versa.)

Hopefully someone with Video Doorbell Pro experience has a better answer for you. :crossed_fingers:

You are correct it won’t connect because of the chime (hub) is not working. The doorbell hardware seems to be functioning. All the lights react, I can hear the shutter and it rings at the doorbell it self. You’re probably right about the Roku hardware also. It would explain why Wyze didn’t sell the chime separately. Hopefully the gift card will cover the cost of a different model. Thanks for trying to help.

You’re welcome, and thanks for the confirmation. Now I really hope someone sees this topic and tells me that it’s possible to pair Video Doorbell Pro with a different Chime Pro, because that would make some eBay options more appealing, and I could learn something new.

Since you previously mentioned eBay, I wonder if you’ve seen this:

I see a couple of Video Doorbell Pro with Chime options there. I’m not sure what you were seeing before.

There were a few on ebay, but none them had free shipping when I looked. What you found looks good. I will get one of those. and let you know if a different chime will pair successfully.
You’ve been a great help thank you again
